Top of The Mornin Cafe — Restaurant in Calumet Township

Walked in and was professionally greeted by Sha and I ordered the turkey smash burger and southern shrimp and grits. She was the only one working and had to take and fix the orders, which was not a biggie for me because I was enjoying the atmosphere. However, 2 customers came in and left while she was in the back fixing food. Fast forward, as I'm sitting there, the front lobby filled with smoke and fumes from the appliance used to cook from. I was ok, but it may bothersthose that choose to dine in.

Nonetheless, we got the food and enjoyed it. I would ask for a less cheese next time because that turkey smash burger was loaded - check that cheese pull in the picture. Thanks for a great experience and I look forward to trying...

I DROVE ALL THE WAY FROM THE NW SIDE OF CHICAGO TO TRY THIS GARY/MILLER BEACH FOODIE HAVEN AND

MY GOD!! THE SHRIMP AND GRITS WERE SPECTACULAR. THE DEPTHS OF FLAVOR WERE ROBUST BUT NOT OVERPOWERING AND LEFT YOU WANTING BITE AFTER BITE…AND BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, THE BOWL IS GONE!!

AND THIS CHICKEN AND WAFFLE WRAP JUST HIT ALL THE SPOTS ONE DREAMS OF WHEN LOOKING FOR A HEARTY BUT SWEET BREAKFAST EXPERIENCE ❤️❤️

WOULD GLADLY MAKE THE 1-HOUR DRIVE AGAIN FOR THIS SWEET MOMENT OF PARADISE IN MY MOUTH, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN.

Went there for our anniversary back in April to just pick up a breakfast that's a little outside the norm, and this place did NOT disappoint! Had the chicken and bubble waffle with a scrambled egg inside and it was amazing! Can't wait to try out their shrimp and grits. I hope you guys keep getting business and I will personally spread the word about this place. Keep up the welcoming, positive attitudes as well as that also makes a huge difference. Keep up...
