Yesterday at 12:10 I placed a call in order specifying exactly how I wanted my food, the same way I always order but somehow they always get it wrong. Upon receiving my order after a long wait, I went to the car to eat my food and again it wasn’t prepared the way I asked. How hard is it to add mild sauce to the ribs and none on the fries? My mom's food was fine. I went back inside the establishment once again and specified how I wanted my order. I was told by the cook the ticket said… I stated we established the ticket was wrong so I reiterated how I wanted my meal to be prepared. After waiting for some time I went back to my car to open the container and it was wrong again, this time I asked for the owner of the manager. I explained once again to the same cook and I’m assuming this person who was standing alongside him was the manager because he’s there quite a bit. Brown skin, a beard, and a brown jacket were worn by the “manager” was wearing. I told him to make life simple, just give me a bowl of warm sauce and a side of fries with no sauce. The manager couldn’t comprehend that, after seeing that I wouldn’t get any time of resolution I stated, that’s ok. Upon leaving he yelled,” You come in here with all these demands. I shouted I’m trying to support a black business, the wait is long, my order is wrong and he yelled, “ F off”. I will never return to this place, I supported them when they were at their previous location. I spent $37 on my food. What type of establishment is this, employees yelling F off to their customers? I should have gone to Big Daddy’s like I started to do, again I try to support black businesses but I would never support this one again! Fed up with poor service, the phone continuously rings, or either we don’t have water excuse so we’re closed, although they were in the back barbecuing and I still tried to support them. Read more👎👎👎👎👎 x 5 Rib tips were dry, chewy, hard and not eatable for the past 3 times I’ve gone over a span of maybe 3 months; I really try to support small/minority owned businesses. Talked to MOD and had to go through 2 days of back and forth (we ain’t got no ribs to replace your order 🤔/we need the plate back with the food/ we need your receipt too/you might be 🤥 /asked to speak to owner or give me their number-she ain’t available-what’s her phone number? Some man gets on the phone and says he’s the owner which is it a he/she?-whose lying now) to attempt to get my money back and still didn’t get my money back 🤦♀️ I have 4 ppl in my family we each tried to eat the 3/4 tips on our plates. Everyone was like this is 🗑️ I can eat this! Maybe 3 tips were decent in my large order. Took my receipt back as they requested and still had to argue with the MOD/so called owner, as to why I wasn’t lying about the food being terrible and why he should return my money. They gave me a sample of what they had just cooked and I agreed that’s the quality of tips I’m expecting. They gave me a replacement rib tip and still only half the order was decent. Never coming back again so very disappointing as a minority owned business. I used to go there all the time and I kept trying them hoping things would improve because they used to be good! But the last few times I’ve gone it’s been poor quality food with flavorful sauce and ghetto customer service (music blasting in the background when receptionist answers the phone so she can’t hear when people are talking got hung up on twice). I'm big on not deviating from what works! I believe that if you move too far from it, your business suffers in the long run.
That being said, I'm disappointed in the way this establishment operates. I've ordered food through doordash, and I've gone in person on a couple of different occasions. Flavor? Great! Sauce? Great! Ribs? Meh... some of the time, they were good. Tender, well cooked and seasoned & had plenty of sauce. Other times, they were as tough as leather, mostly bone or fat & hardly had any sauce.
The chicken & pork links? They're pretty decent, but my last order, the chicken links were dry like turkey meat & again...hardly any sauce 🤔
The service largely depends on who is in the building. I don't know who is who, but I do know that if I feel like my presence is a bother to you, then either you need a different task or a different job than working the front taking orders.
There's hardly anything in the cooler to choose from if I want a drink or dessert, the lobby is a disaster in that it isn't clean, TV doesn't work, no menu, one table, raggedy blinds...it just makes me sad honestly that there seems to be a serious lack of pride in the way this restaurant operates.
We need to be more aware & responsible for the level of respect & courtesy our staff gives. We need to serve food that always hits the mark & we need to go above and beyond no matter what area we service! Be better. Do better. Make more $ & get more positive reviews💯....
