American Pie Co. — Restaurant in Camarillo

We were excited to try a new place. Ordered online and set-up online thing. Said not available multiple times when trying to log on. Ended up ordering from someplace else. Low and behold, shortly after finishing dinner, the order we never got any sort of confirmation from showed up at our door.

Pizza was eh. Ordered the white Knight, sausage we added was overcooked and dry, couldn't taste basil, tasted no garlic. ordered a sandwich along with it, but being full from the prior dinner, haven't tried it yet.

In short, online ordering is sub par at best and food (what there was room to taste) is eh.

Only reason for 3 stars is they actually, though all be it unannounced, showed up on time, that having been said, the pizza was also cold, didn't check the sandwich, it just went in the fridge.

From other reviews and what we tasted, seems like Ameci's with a new name. Bummer.

Update to review. Tried the sandwich that was ordered. Not only was the bread burnt, there was no flavor (other than burnt bread).

Also, somewhat sad that the only thing addressed in the reply was that the food was cold when there are plenty of issues more. To answer that question, yes it was ordered directly from the American pie Co. website that never confirmed the order...

We ordered food to go and discovered this place is where the old Ameci’s Pizza used to be! I guess they are different owners now.

I thought everything was really delicious and better than the prior establishment. The prices were pretty good too for the portion sizes. We started with the jalapeño poppers and they are legit! Authentic, traditional cream cheese filling and a nice kick! My daughter only likes cheese pizza so that is what we got and although a tad bit soggy in the middle, the flavors were spot on. I love a really herby sauce, full of flavor and their sauce hits the spot for me. The moment I took a bite of the pizza I felt like I had all of those flavors and spices I’m looking for in a pizza versus canned sauce. And the crust was delicious too!

Finally, I ordered half of a pumpkin pie for under $5 because…why not! It wasn’t as good as Costco or my homemade pie, but it was ok for the price. We even got a scoop of vanilla ice cream, which my daughter enjoyed. I also ordered a cold cut sandwich which is going to be my lunch tomorrow! It’s huge and I bet it will be really good.

Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and we have a TON of leftovers for the price. We will definitely be back!...

Called on a Sunday to place order. Got put on hold for 8 minutes. Hung up and called again. Got put on hold for 5 minutes. Took my order said it was going to be 20 minutes. Since it sounded busy, I waited 30 minutes to show up. I get there, they look confused that I placed an order. Said it didn't go through. But I had talked to them on the phone? Come to find out, the phone number is connected to someone's phone who isn't in on Sundays. He failed to notify the restaurant before I showed up about my order. Proceeded to wait another 30 minutes for the food. I feel bad leaving this review. Understaffed, they lack technical abilities to set up the phone properly, and whenever answered the phone didn't sound like a cool dude. Hopefully reading review after working hard they'll come to realize to respect others time and to put themselves in the customers shoes. I'll keep coming here. It's convenient and they've nailed down their sandwiches and wings, and will update my review as my experience potentially improves. Will call again next Sunday to see...
