This was my first time eating Indian food so I don’t have anything to compare it with. My buddy and I were in on a Saturday and although they were still closed the owner let us in earlier. This is a small restaurant with few tables but I really enjoyed the ambiance. Previous to the Curry Leaf we were up in Thousand Oaks in a place called Himalaya and we had to leave the place because of the way the place was decorated. The Curry Leaf is simple and all about the food.
Staff was wonderful for us, timing was good and they were on top of things. The owner is a character. I was hoping he would’ve been a little more helpful with helping us to explain the menu to us so we could make a wise decision on what to order but that wasn’t the case. Either way he gave us good customer service and made us feel very welcome.
Price was a little on the high end but was well worth the money. We were the first ones at this place but were almost the last ones to start eating. Place was really busy and I would say we waited about 30-40 minutes for our food. Once our food arrived the wait was well worth it. The bread, the lamb curry and the rice were delicious. Portions were filling and leave you satisfied. Overall I was really satisfied with this place and will definitely be coming back for more.

Read moreI visited this place recently and am disappointed. It seems that the standard of this restaurant has gone down very much. The food is pretty good, but there is only one cook who overseas all the orders. It took us a while to receive our food, and then our server forgot to place our order of more naan which led to us just waiting for 20 mins with our curry on the table. We eventually took everything to-go. It was not her fault, as the restaurant has only ONE waitress and while she tried her best, she was obviously overworked. Also, the restroom was broken and we were asked to use the neighboring CVS instead! We ordered masala chai and we received a half-filled cup, when we asked for more we were told that they were out of chai. They have also removed good menu items such as the fried rice which we enjoyed during our first visit. Overall, a disappointing experience and I will not be returning. Good food isn’t enough to...
Read moreIn a town where good eateries are hard to come by, the Curry Leaf steps up and fills that void. I am by no means an Indian food expert, but I know good food when I find it. Sandy, the owner, has a little place on the East end of Camarillo that serves some of the best food I have had in Ventura county. The quality of the food is second to none. The service is good, but be prepared to wait sometimes. It's a small venue and seating is limited but believe me when I say the wait is completely worth it. Do yourself a favor and order the Camarillo Crack (battered garlic cauliflower). So freaking good! This is my go to place for eating out in Camarillo. Go...
