I love this shop. Their quality of coffee is amazing and their food is delicious. The owner is so kind, fantastic with my girls, and so welcoming. My only frustration with this shop is that most of the baristas seem very upset to be there and take your order. Mind you, I have been a barista at small coffee shops for over 7 years and now own my own coffee business. I like to support local as well so it's always a treat to go to other shops for me and my girls. Lately though it has not been very welcoming or warm and inviting. They don't talk to us, only to themselves and when we ask a question or try and order it seems like a burden to them to stop talking and pay attention to the customers. We're looked at like we're dumb or a burden. We attended the coffee and conchas event and my girls were so excited. And then the excitement went right out the door after a female worker yelled in my face. I ordered five drinks and was waiting for one more. I saw her set one down, a hot drink that I'm 99% sure was mine but I saw was missing something. So when I went to ask her if it had an ingredient in it that I had paid for, she didn't answer me but just tell "HOT VANILLA LATTE" , smirked and rolled her eyes and walked away. When I tried again she just yelled HOT VANILLA LATTE, as if I was ignorant to the fact that it was a latte and walked away. Again I believe it was mine but just was rung up missing something but instead of being asked if something was wrong we were yelled at and our joy was taken very quickly. Even my oldest daughter mentioned how rude it was that she yelled at us when we had no idea why. I even asked another barista for a cup holder and the girl who yelled at us yelled over her "they're right there" with a pompous attitude. We were very caught off guard because we've loved coming here and enjoying the atmosphere but if this is what the experience will be like, I'm not sure that's something I want for me and my girls. So thankfully another woman asked what I needed and she was so sweet and remade my drink. I asked if I had done something wrong to make her so upset and scream at us and she said no, and apologized for the other girls actions. But it was a very sad interaction and we were all let down. Hopefully they can realize how big their interactions with their loyal customers mean to us in such a short amount of time that we're with them. Otherwise I feel a unwelcoming and off putting vibe can ruin such an...
Read moreIt was my third time at Tree Lounge coffee. The layout is really cool, and I love all the artists they support. They also have a really good selection of pastries & some good vegan options.
Aside from that, I feel very unwelcome every time I visit. For instance, I'll walk in & stand at the counter ready to order, and the person sitting there is completely silent. I'm not sure if they're supposed to take my order or if they're working on something else.. it's just awkward. I'll be the first one to speak and I'll awkwardly place my order, and there's no "thank you," or, "we'll bring it right out!" Zero emotion from the barista. With this kind of service, why is there even a tip option?
I highly recommend having basic service training with employees. I felt so uncomfortable here that I left and went down the street for coffee where I know my business is...
Read moreI used to love to come here a ton, considering I live down the street. But as time has gone on the people that work here are just more and more rude. They are short, seem very annoyed to be taking my order (a simple cinnamon roll and tea), and bring no warmth to the business. I have given tree lounge a lot of chances, but I don’t think I will be back because of how the employees treat customers. Mind you I’ve been a barista myself for over a decade, so I know how certain customers can make it difficult but there’s no reason to treat everyone so poorly. The cinnamon rolls are amazing and their teas are delicious, so for a quality snack stop it is...
