What a yummy yummy place! Our regular spot was closed today, so we decided to branch out and finally try Cambridge Market Cafe and we’re so glad that we did! We love “our place” but we’ve got plenty of room to love other places and this one has made the come back to list. As homeschoolers— we love getting out and about to tackle some work and it’ll be great to have a new option!
Absolutely love the kid offerings— even if neither of mine opted for one today. What kid doesn’t like a plate with various things?! The BLT was great— the sourdough, just yum! The chicken salad was dilly-er than my daughter liked and I was very happy to trade with her! My other kiddo was totally into the grilled cheese pita. Great side options, and we all chose something different— fruit, chips & salsa, and a cup of soup! The bakery case is also filled with loads of beautiful and delicious goods. The lemon cream scone was light and lovely, the lemon bar was delicious, and I didn’t manage to snag a taste of the croissant but it disappeared quickly, so I’m guessing it was also delicious! Great London fog latte! I find their prices to be absolutely reasonable.
As non Christians, the very Christian music was a bit much for us— mostly because it was a radio station and the Christian based radio host chatter was a bit unexpected as my kiddos were doing work. So we didn’t stay and get as much of our work done there as we had hoped. We’ll definitely choose to sit elsewhere next time, we chose poorly and were right next to a speaker. This is no complaint whatsoever — business owners are absolutely free to play what they love. It’s just worth noting that it can be a bit distracting for some if you’re expecting to do work there without headphones on. When it’s a soft playlist going in the background with no radio hosts chiming in, it’s a much more peaceful and workable environment for us.
But this is a beautiful place, with delicious food and super kind and welcoming people and it’s absolutely worth stopping at, and be sure to check out the lovely shop attached! There is some really great...
Read moreWe went there for their Bratfest. I'd never heard of the place before that. I'm grateful they did that. The food/drinks seemed pricey, but they were good, and my son confirmed the hot dogs were good as they are not edible at the real Bratfest. We went for the music, and while good, I wish he would've been playing outside. I'm not comfortable eating indoors at public places yet, and when we sat outside to eat, since there were no speakers there, we unfortunately couldn't hear the music. We later discovered there are some tables in the back too where we could've heard the music, but had no idea they were there. I am so grateful they have outdoor seating. The inside also has a nice atmosphere, which we enjoyed when not eating with masks on. While I'm truly grateful there weren't a whole lot more people there, it was also surprising there weren't more people there. The overall combination of everything was a positive, relaxing experience with frustration only about not being able to hear the music outside (especially with the...
Read moreMy friend and I came to Cambridge for a restful weekend away and found our way to Cambridge Market for coffee and breakfast. I got a classic breakfast sandwich and added cream cheese. The cream cheese took the sandwich from a 9/10 to a 10/10 and truly was the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. My friend got the breakfast burrito and she enjoyed it. We both got nitro cold brew that were tasty as well. Lastly, while in Cambridge, we noticed lack of a welcoming and kind community. For the most part, every interaction we had during our stay in Cambridge was cold and made us feel unwelcomed. It felt awkward to say the least! While at Cambridge Market we experienced kindness and a welcoming environment- the best we have been treated since staying here. Our experience with the employees of Cambridge Market gave us hope for the rest of the town and our visit. You all are what lights...
