My partner and I were in the area on a little day trip and decided to stop and grab a bite. And oh my goodness…This place is absolutely beautiful inside!
I love how modern it is and everything they did with the design. It’s a great location too. We didn’t have reservation so we sat at the bar for about 15 minutes until we had a table. I ordered a Raspberry Mojito and it was DELISH! It had pretty mint leaves and raspberries at the bottom. It tasted a little tart but the flavor blended so well! The bartender was a very friendly woman🙂
Once we were seated in the back I truly fell in love with the atmosphere! But the service became pretty slow. I would have ordered another drink but our waitress wasn’t around. I also wasn’t able to get a water refill until after my meal so I started sipping on my partners.
I enjoyed my meal but the NY strip was very salty and I wanted to get some steak sauce. However the waitress did not come back until way later so I ended up just getting about half of my meal to go. I had ordered my baked potato without sour cream so it just had cheese on it. I think I would have liked a little butter on it but the waitress didn’t come back so I never got a chance to ask for that either.
The staff was friendly but our waitress wasn’t really around and that made our dinner not as enjoyable as it could have been. There was another server there that seemed like she was very involved and very attentive so maybe it was just bad luck. I would still like to go back and give it another try if I am in the area, and I would still recommend others give this place a try if they’re passing through. Hopefully my experience was just an off day and if I go back and have a more positive experience I’ll edit &...
Read moreWhile I would give the food 3 stars, the service wasn't even 1 star. I have never had a worse service experience at a restaurant in my life. Although we had a great time despite this establishment, I would avoid at all costs!
We had a party of 9 people, which is apparently way beyond anything this staff can handle. First off, they forgot drinks for 3 out of the 9 orders. Those who actually got their drink order waited for over 25 minutes. There was no attention paid to drinks that were empty throughout the meal. Additional drink orders took at least 15 minutes to receive.
We had to remind the waiter to bring my wife's soup... It came about the same time as the main course.
Finally, the entrees started to arrive. They initially brough out 3 of the 8 entrees. Over 15 minutes passed before 7 of the 8 entrees were delivered to the table. According to our waiter, there was a "communication issue" with one of orders. In other words, they completely missed one of the orders. My wife's steak would arrive about 10 minutes later... 25 minutes after the first entree came to the table! She ordered an additional glass of wine while waiting, which never arrived.
To top it off, my wife found a hair in her garlic mashed potatoes. She reported this to the waiter and hostess, but wasn't even offered an apology.
Then the bill arrived. Although they had to be well aware of the awful service we received, they offered nothing. Not even a free round of drinks. I had to complain to get the delayed steak and potatoes with hair in them removed from the bill.
Several other tables appeared to have major issues. Avoid...
Read moreFirst time at Plow. We arrived 20 mins before our reservation and we were told our table was ready but the hostess did not want to seat us until waitstaff was ready. The hostess suggested we have a drink at the bar. While the bar was full, we waited 15 minutes to order drinks from the bar. While we were waiting for our drinks the hostess came to seat us, she proceeded to seat 3 of our party of 6 while the other 3 waited another 10 mins for the drinks. Here's a concept...offer to have the waitress deliver the drinks to our table, so we could all be seated at one time. We went especially for the prime rib, as we were told it was supposed to be smoked. After tasting the prime rib, I found it not to have a good smoked flavor, and first time ever having small flakes of bone in the meat. When a plate is $23, I expected the meal to come with more than just the meat and a mashed potato. We were not served bread, salad or a soup with our meal. We did not receive the kind of attention we are used to when we do go out to eat. This resulted in us having to ask the waitress for drink refills. We were done with our meal and were asked if we would like to have dessert, we asked for a menu but then were told the choice were limited to 2. One of the individuals in our group chose the brownie with Sassy Cow ice cream. The brownie was overdone and smothered with Hershey's chocolate syrup Overall, I would say service was poor at best, and food is mediocre. The only thing this restaurant has going for it is aesthetics of the stone and woodwork in the building. I wouldn't recommend to anyone and WILL NOT...
