Gerber's Joint — Restaurant in Cambridge

Gerber’s Joint is SO GOOD! We have tried so many different taco places over the years all over Florida, California, Arizona and elsewhere and these are by far the freshest and best quality tacos we’ve had. Tacos (especially those at taco trucks) obviously tend to be made with the cheapest possible ingredients - they might be good, but just know you’re getting the cheap stuff. Not here!! They even use homemade heirloom corn for their tortillas, which is the best quality you can get for tortillas!! We come up to Smuggs every year and this is SUCH a welcome addition to Jeffersonville. Now there are two fantastic, high-quality food truck-like places here.

Be sure to try their grilled cheese tacos - DO NOT get the regular ones because the grilled cheese ones are just so much better! They have grilled crispy cheese all along the entire outside of the tortillas - amazing. You can get a variety of meats in your order (we got 1 chicken, 1 carne asada and 2 carnitas) - the carne asada and carnitas were our favorite meats! The green salsa is a great addition as well - make sure to ask for some.

And if you’re getting tacos, come on Tuesday!! They have a great deal on Tuesdays!! However, there are different deals other days of the week as well. All in all, an amazing place, and one that definitely deserves...

Gerber’s Joint is a fantastic food truck we discovered by chance while passing through the area. We decided to stop and try their fish tacos — and they were absolutely delicious. The fish was perfectly cooked, topped with fresh ingredients and a touch of mango, adding a sweet, tropical note that made every bite stand out.

The setup is simple but charming. Next to the food truck, there are a few outdoor tables where you can sit and enjoy your meal surrounded by nature. The atmosphere is peaceful, with mountains in the background and fresh air all around — it’s the kind of place where eating outdoors really adds to the experience.

We sat there, enjoying our tacos in this beautiful setting, and honestly, even while writing this, I’m tempted to go back just to grab a few more for the road. If you’re anywhere nearby, don’t miss the chance to stop — it’s a small, casual spot, but the food and setting make it unforgettable....

Let me tell you, this joint makes the best chicken burrito in the state. I am from the Chicago area and we have some great Mexican food there. I tried nearly every Vermont burrito that people were suggesting on Reddit, and all of them were coming in at a 5/10 for me. I have been consistently severely disappointed in Vermont’s burritos until I came to Gerber’s Joint. This one is a true 9.5/10.
