Nubar — Restaurant in Cambridge

I attended the restaurant earlier today with my colleagues. I ordered a fish sandwich. The fish sandwich was flavorless and the fish batter was very dark brown. Clearly they are cooking with old oil. The waiter was nice ad I expressed to him the food was horrible. My colleague ordered chicken wings and they were awful as well. The wings were super dry, no flavor and extremely dark. Am sure they were fried in the same oil as well. My waiter was very apologetic about the situation and I appreciated that. I still gave him a good tip.

Am saddened that a restaurant in a well to do neighborhood would serve food like this. This is shameful. I would expect this from Friendly's or McDonald's not Nubar.

Please have your chef know to change the oil and learn how to season better. This was unacceptable and ruined my experience at Nubar. No other guest should have to deal with tasteless food cooked in old frying oil.

I love to eat out and had high expectations for this place. If Google had an option to give zero stars or half a star, I would have rated it a zero. The only good thing I had experienced about this restaurant was my waiter. He was nice and made my drink well.

Please change your oil and add more seasoning...

An absolutely sumptuous and memorable Thanksgiving Dinner here two years running, in 2019 and again this year in 2020! I wish to thank General Manager Richard Mann and Nubar employees for their loyalty to customers in maintaining this Thanksgiving tradition at the Cambridge Sheraton Commander Hotel, despite Covid-19 conditions. This year the pandemic discouraged patrons and there were far fewer patrons for this year's Thanksgiving dinner than even Covid restrictions allowed. Nubar must have lost money on this event, but maintained the tradition despite all that. I very much applaud Nubar and the Sheraton Commander for their loyalty to their customers in this way. The surroundings were extremely elegant, the social distancing enormous, the food plentiful and of the very best quality. So plentiful that the absence of the usual buffet for Covid reasons had no impact on variety and quantity. A wonderful and heartwarming family event!!! We will definitely be coming back next year and all the years after that. Bravo, Nubar and GM...

I recently visited Nubar and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food, despite the limited options on the menu. My companion and I ordered the salmon and shrimp linguini, and both dishes were truly amazing. The flavors were well-balanced and the ingredients were fresh and delicious.

In addition to the entrees, the popovers and flat bread were also noteworthy. However, the atmosphere at Nubar left something to be desired. The lack of music created a somewhat lackluster vibe, and the cocktails were not up to par with the quality of the food. While they were drinkable, they were not particularly memorable.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Nubar for the food alone. The salmon and shrimp linguini are must-tries, and the popovers and flat bread are a nice bonus. Just be prepared for a less-than-exciting atmosphere and...
