The gizzards I had here were the best I've ever had, aside from my mother's cooking! They were soft, crunchy, and absolutely delicious! I called ahead yesterday and placed an order for 5 pounds to share with my friends. It was a fantastic idea to choose this place for our gizzard-eating party! I arrived at 1:30 pm to pick up my order, which was scheduled for 2:00 pm. They were in the process of freshly preparing my order, so I waited patiently for about 10 minutes. During this time, I took some pictures and had the pleasure of meeting the family that owned Goodwings. Isaac, the owner, was exceptionally friendly, and all of his employees were cheerful, helpful, and welcoming. The atmosphere of the establishment was cozy and reminiscent of a small-town diner. They had pool tables and ample seating areas. I intend to bring my family here the next time they visit us so that we can all enjoy a delicious meal together. Isaac is originally from Knoxville and a passionate fan of the University of Tennessee, so there are many UT memorabilia displayed around the restaurant. However, there are also various other interesting items to keep one entertained while waiting for the food. I genuinely enjoyed my brief wait, as I had the opportunity to engage in pleasant conversations with the employees and other customers. After meeting with my friends for our gizzard-eating party, their opinion of the gizzards fell right in line with mine. They are delicious! Every day, Goodwings cooks livers to order and only has gizzards on Wednesdays. They have many other things on their menu, such as fish and chicken. You've just got to try it. This place can't get an order correct. They have teenagers running the place at night. The food is good but the service SUCKS. 2 weeks ago we called an order in for my family of 4. I get there to pick up our 4 meals and they hand me a bag with 1 meal in it. They completely left off the rest of the order. I had to stand there and wait 15 minutes for them to cook the rest. They didn't even offer anything for my wait. Last night we called in an order. I ordered fish with french fries as my side. I only received the fish. No fries or side at all. They tie the bags shut so tightly that I have to cut them open so checking your order before you leave...

My husband and I both got the fish basket with drinks. The cost was around $21. The fish were small pieces but they were flaky and good. My husband loved the white beans. I got the fried okra and it was crispy and quite a bit of it. The young men who took our order and brought our drinks and food to us was very polite and made sure we had what we needed. The only thing I wasn't fond of was how dark it was inside. It was around 5:45 when we arrived, and the restaurant was too dark inside for my taste.
