If you took the time to complain or you’re just looking for a great restaurant then please read this entire review. I could not believe the one star reviews on Pepperoni Bills, mainly for the reason they were complaining.
We moved here almost 8 months ago. How has it taken me this long to discover this place? It's not like I don't drive by it daily. Honestly, I was starting to get the impression that good pizza did not exist at the lake. We moved from the NW Suburbs of Chicago where pizza is practically it's own food group, so it was disheartening to say the least to not be able to score a quality pie.
That changed this week, as this place knows how to do it right. I am not easily impressed and I was pretty blown away by the freshness of the toppings, the delicious crust, and the tanginess of the sauce. Just. Friggin. Yum.
Do note that you will pay more than average for a pie here, but after you take that first bite you will know where that extra cash is going. I opted for sliced meatballs as an option on mine in place of more traditional meat offerings, and that was sure a good call. I will definitely be going that route again. I probably should have taken some pictures but I pretty much attacked it as soon as we got it home, so no dice there. I will try to take one on subsequent visits.
I opted for carryout, but the interior looks nice and would make for a good night out option with my fam also I suspect. If you are in or around this area and are looking for a good pizza, this place is a no-brainer. Now I just need to try that RJ's place down the street that is so packed it looks like they are giving away free beer and lap dances every...
Read moreI spent years on the east coast eating NYC style pizza, then years in Chicago eating deep dish, and both styles stand on their own. And it's hard to find decent equivalents outside those two regions. Now I've been looking for good pizza in Missouri.
Pepperoni Bill's is a clean, smallish place with excellent service and a nice decor. And good pizza. A 10" cheese pizza was around $12 and the jumbo (equivalent to a Large) was $22.
They offed thin, thick, and crisp crusts. I ordered the thin, hoping that I might find a real NYC pie this side of Syracuse but no, the thin was quite crispy and the outer rim of the crust nicely flaky. So I'm glad I didn't order the crispy, which I assume must be based on hard tack to be more crispy than the thin.
I ordered a jumbo pepperoni, planning to have plenty remaining for a couple of leftover meals when I got home. Danged if I didn't eat almost half that pizza. But I hadn't eaten much the previous days and was hungry as a starved hound. I almost ate more, but it was cold out and I needed to be able to button up my vest. I was pleasantly stuffed when I stopped gobbling down that pie.
They also have a small selection of canned beer, and sell house wine. And they're located on the corner where Hwy 54 and Hwy 5 intersect in Camdenton, across from the courthouse. It was quiet with all couples when I was there last night but looked children friendly.
Give it a try...
