Dino's Diner & Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Cameron

When I came in today the food was off and our waitress and the manager was pretty rude. I ordered the beef roll and a salad. However the beef roll had a plastic taste to it and my salad was soaked. I tried to eat both but it wasn’t pleasant. I’m not even the type to complain. My plan was just to leave it and move on with my day. However as I was getting up our waitress asked us if we wanted a box I simply said no that’s okay. She was persistent on knowing why I wasn’t wanting to take it; to the point of demanding a reason. I finally said I didn’t like it. She then gave me an unpleasant look and told me to tell the manager and walked away. Like isn’t that your job to get the reason and explain to the manager? So I walked up to the register and I could hear the waitress being disrespectful to me to the manager from the back of the restaurant. They cleaned my plates pretty quickly even though there was dirty tables there for 20 minutes just sitting there. Then I requested for the manager as requested by the waitress. I asked if I could get a refund. She was very aggressive and asked unprofessional questions like “have you had it before” I responded with I’ve had a salad before! Then she asked “how much have you ate?” When she saw the plate but like I said they cleaned that up pretty quick! Just kind of questioning my character like I was trying to get free food. Instead of asking why I didn’t prefer it and accepting feedback. I’m not a Karen but this place will bring that out of you.

Staff Rude. Would...

Our waitress was nice, and the food was decent. However, when I checked out, the lady at the register was extremely rude. She had her cell phone sitting on the register and never even looked up from her phone, she didn't say a word, just stuck her hand out for my money, and after she was done running my card handed it to another person standing at the register, because she still hadn't bothered to look up from her phone, let alone ask how my meal was or any form of nicety. When I told her how rude she was being, she decided to tell me that she had worked a long day. Well, so had I. But I could at least get off my phone long enough for a human interaction. I asked her for the manager, she said she was the manager...but she refused to give me her name. So I asked another waitress nearby. Her name is Buka. And apparently her parents own the restaurant, which is clearly how she has been given her manager position. Based on her performance this evening, I'm certain she didn't earn it. The diner has a bad reputation in town about how they treat their employees. I truly wish I had eaten somewhere else instead of trying to support the local place....

Today was our first dining experience at Dinos and it was wonderful! We arrived 1pm, just after the busy Sunday lunch rush. Most tables were still full and it was apparent they'd been busy. Having worked as a customer service manager for many years, I am very observant of the service I receive as a customer and make it a point to report exceptional service when I do receive it. Our waitress, Jennifer, was very friendly; Bright smiling face, eye contact, open and engaging body language, joked a bit with us, repeated our orders back for accuracy, checked back with us to see if we needed anything, thanked us and invited us to come back again soon! :) I listened in as she took orders at a neighboring table also & noted that she was very knowledgeable regarding the menu selections and just as friendly even as she answered many questions. Great job, young lady! The food was terrific! I ordered the 2 egg w/gyro meat, hash browns and toast. My husband had the farmers omelette w/hash browns, toast and biscuits/sausage gravy.
