Johnny Rockets was great! Good food and excellent service but it is located inside of Cliff Castle Casino. I gave five stars since this review is for Johnny Rockets but read about the hotel below.
Cliff Castle Cadino is a scam! We drove down from Phoenix spent $180 for one night and found out we are staying in the dump hotel beneath the casino. It is called The Lodge at Cliff Castle Casino when there is no Casino. It should be called the The Lodge Near (but not walking distance to) Cliff Castle Casino. Why would they advertise it is a Casino, when it is not. The lady at the front desk was rude, and said I should have called her before booking the room so she could explain it to me. Sorry, I don't know who you are, so how do I know to call you before I made my reservation. Crazy response to an upset guest at their hotel.
Update: we decided to leave The Cliff Castle Casino and drive back to Phoenix and sleep in our own bed in fear of bed bugs. The TV didn't work, it says, 'No signal'. There are no outlets to plug in a phone or computer. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everyones conversations. The airconditioner is not keeping the room cool and it sounds like an airplane taking off when it does turn on. The carpet by the airconditioner is soaking wet and I can see blackmold in the carpet. The room has a terrible smell, which is probably from the mold and cigarette smoke. The smell engulfs you when you first walk in the room. We noticed the same smell in our clothes and hair while in the car after we left. We thought the smell could be coming from the airconditioner itself, or from outside near the pool where we saw five large black garbage bags saturated flies. We could smell it driving here from The Casino where I thought we were staying. The sliding glass door doesn't have a lock. We tried to call the front desk but the phone does not work, I-kid-you-not. Unbelievable, we...
Read moreWe go here several times a year because it's got a great atmosphere, Americana and diner food and it's always clean and has no wait. We have done 3 birthdays at the bowling alley where we have ordered food from Johnny's and it was great, but today it was over the top amazing. Best service and fastest food to table I've ever seen them do, they kept several tables clear for us with just half an hour notice and didn't mess up one thing about our order for 20 people!!! I was just amazed. Our server was phenomenal, she just hit it out of the park with her abilities and service. They even gave our son a huge birthday sundae and gave us a group discount for such a large party. Everyone was happy and excited, they almost all ate their food, I loved my food and so did my husband, the water tastes fantastic FYI and they had dr. Pepper, which several of the kids love. So, hands down, if you want a fun birthday celebration for over 30 people (16 which were kids), do the bowling for an hour and finish off at Johnny rockets (give them a 45 min heads up that you are needing a spot for a group) and take your own order down for your guests so it's easy for them to start when you get there. The whole cost for a 3 hour party with 30 people for an hour of bowling and food and great atmosphere was $245 bucks! We tipped more because it was on par with a miracle what Johnny rockets pulled off. We so appreciate that the casino has these features, we love having this place nearby! You ROCK, cliff castle, Johnny rockets and bowling personnel, youve given us and our kids so many great memories and blessed a lot of their friends with...
Read moreWhen Johnny rockets opened up the Cliff Castle Casino in Camp Verde we used to go often when the kids were younger. There was such an ambience back then. All the cooks behind the counter and servers were those cute 1950s uniforms* with the white hats..they even danced! 1950's music playing! The experience wasn't so good last week. I ordered a vegan milkshake. The waitress forgot to tell me it's $3 more and you get half the amount and it's only because they make it with almond milk. Give me a break. In fact there was no price.. we went back to look at the table and see what the flyer said. The waitress could have said yeah you're going to pay $11 for 7 oz of almond milk!!!! My sandwich was totally not delicious in fact I couldn't eat it it was nasty. All of the cooks looked taxed they were wearing black, sweating and had food literally all over there cooks tops. Honestly we were there at 11 for lunch those uniforms were not cleaned and that is disgusting, and no music was playing. I should have gone to Sonic. Don't think I'll ever go back there again hate to say but they need to get on their game that is not the Johnny rockets we remember. Taking one look at their smocks and seeing all that old dry nasty food on them yeah I know thank you you guys lost your charm and...
