I’m going to try to make this short and simple. I wanted to really love this place, I waited months to go just for my birthday. Yesterday on October 7th I went for my birthday Celebration and everything was good until we sat down. Long story short we had a server which I don’t remember her name. Moral of the story she is the reason I had the worse birthday brunch ever. She didn’t ring most of my parties food in so some of us were sitting with no food. She Didn’t ring my drinks in at all or my food. Following, when I tried to explain to her that it was my birthday as she already knew and what she was missing and that this was not going well she tried to gas light me. Not only that the manager was brought over to compensate us with shots. Now I don’t mind shots but at this point I was totally over it I had no food on my stomach no drinks that I asked for and it was a horrible experience. When I talked to one of the managers Jose whom was nice and tried to help I just felt like the situation was not able to be fixed. We didn’t want money off our bill or any compensation we literally wanted our food and drinks. I picked this restaurant so we could eat and drink and have fun like my family always does. Leading with that there was another waiter I think name Ro, he tried so hard to make it better but he knew my birthday was ruined at this point. I really appreciated him honestly just his vibe and trying to cheer me up. In conclusion, I went back and fourth with myself on writing this. What I do is go to brunch places and review my experience and this was by far the worse experience. This was big as it was my birthday and I take my birthday very serious as anyone should( I almost cried that’s how upset I was) . I am not sure I will ever be back here and I encourage anyone who goes to tostadas with a big party to have expectations set...
Read more(Tostadas's Owner) responded to my review and stated this:
"I personally spoke with you during your visit and made sure to comp your entire bill as a gesture of goodwill because we never want any guest to leave feeling uncomfortable."
Why you didn't state that before I walked out of the place I went directly to you to let you know that I had left $30.00 cash on the table because I didn't want to get anything for free? My order was (a Mexican Benedict for $16 + a Cafe de Olla for $3.95), doing the math that was about $21.94 with taxes included. So the $30.00 I left on the table was not enough to pay for my meal? My question; What did happen with the $30.00 that I left on the table? As you can see, Tostadas did not comp my bill. Thanks!
Original review posted two weeks ago: This restaurant is advertised as a "Mexican Restaurant". However, one of the waiters working there could become very racist mainly with pure Mexican people, why? #1 He won't speak Spanish to you even though he clearly states that he is Mexican. #2 If you order a dish with eggs and if you clearly request "no runny eggs (yolk raw) please" then he tells you in your face "oh that's a Mexican thing". In my opinion that comment from waiter could be interpretated as racist, because there is no such a Mexican thing just because someone doesn't like runny eggs (yolk raw). In other words, the waiter assumes that anyone in general that don't like the egg yolk raw is a pure Mexican. How about all the other races that don't like the egg yolk raw, how are they going to feel or take it when this waiter tells them "oh this is a Mexican thing" and you are Mexican? I think they will feel offended by being called Mexican even though they are not Mexican. btw, it was my first time going to Tostadas and most likely it will...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to Tostadas in Campbell, I was thoroughly impressed by the vibrant atmosphere and exceptional culinary offerings. The restaurant exudes a lively and inviting ambiance, making it an ideal spot for both casual gatherings and special occasions.
We began our meal with the Guacamole, artfully presented in a traditional stone molcajete and accompanied by fresh salsa. The guacamole was rich and flavorful, perfectly complemented by the salsa’s zest. The accompanying chips, though slightly firm, provided a satisfying crunch that paired well with the creamy dip.
For the main course, we opted for the Birria Tacos, featuring tender, slow-braised beef enveloped in warm tortillas. The depth of flavor in the birria was remarkable, and the dish was elevated by the addition of fresh cilantro and onions, graciously provided upon request by our attentive waitress.
Desiring a take-home treat, I ordered the Birria Pizzadilla to go. This innovative fusion dish combines the savory essence of birria with the cheesy indulgence of a quesadilla, all packaged thoughtfully with extra condiments to enhance the experience at home.
To accompany our meal, I indulged in a vibrant blue cocktail, the LaToxica, which offered a delightful medley of fruity flavors and a refreshing finish. The drink menu at Tostadas is extensive, featuring a variety of creative cocktails that cater to diverse palates.
Overall, Tostadas delivers a memorable dining experience with its dynamic atmosphere, courteous service, and delectable dishes. I eagerly anticipate my next visit to explore more of their enticing...
