The donuts are the best in town, full stop.
Better than Dunkin Donuts down the road, better than a supermarket bakery, better than a bag of donuts from a gas station. The Long John with white cream is very sweet but the chocolate icing is phenomenal, the donut itself is fluffy, and despite the sweetness I'd rather have one Long John from Best Donut than 10 Long Johns from anywhere else in town.
The ham and cheese croissant is beyond fantastic, but I don't like the one with an egg, it's better without it. Since my last review, they've improved their other breakfast sandwiches so they taste much better than before.
Drinks are fairly priced but the coffee selection is limited, though I'm not much for coffee anyway and it's Best Donut; we have a coffee shop on Main Street if you're just in it for drinks. That said, they sell Prairie Farms milk here which is leagues better tasting milk than you'll get at any other restaurant in town.
As for the interior, it's fairly drab as the building originally housed an old, old Captain D's seafood restaurant. It went uninhabited for quite a while before becoming Best Donut, so the interior had to be mostly gutted, but the staff keep the dining room clean every time I've visited.
The Wi-Fi is free and the passcode is posted on a sign attached to the front counter; just make sure you buy something!
Anyway, I can't overstate how good of a place this is to stop in for breakfast. The food is good, the people are kind, and the overall experience has me wanting more, time and time again.
In conclusion though, I eat here every day before commuting to college out of town (as long as I don't sleep in...), and I prefer it to anywhere else in town for breakfast.
Just be advised that on school days it's not unusual to see people lined up out the door, and wrapped around the drive through. Because, yeah, it really...
Read moreI’m so done with this place! I keep giving chance after chance and they just keep on disappointing! They have short changed me so many times. Gave wrong donuts and I guess apparently, when you say you want assorted donuts, they give you all glazed so you have to tell them mixed. I don’t see any signs anywhere that says that.! And anywhere else understand that assorted donuts ARE mixed. Just bad business all around they have really gone down hill the past year or so I will never go back so done with this business. And to top it off the workers are always RUDE!!! No more business from me or my...
Read moreThe owners/employees were a bit scattered, after ordering my drink the female working walked away. Came back about 3 minutes later with the drink in hand, but we still hadn’t ordered food. The food and drink were okay. The coffee was a solid 2.5/5 (iced caramel coffee). The jalapeño sausage and ched sausage were 4.5/5. Overall, for a mom-and-pop style donut shop-...
