The variety of the menu is astounding. The freshness of the fish is great;the salmon melts in your mouth. The gyoza is okay, it was a little more crunchy than I cared for. The takoyaki is delicious. The food is made quickly and is super hot. We got a free dessert with a strawberry topping with a brownie. The richness of the brownie was very good and balanced out the tartness of the strawberry. The reason for the 4 out of 5 stars was the service. The service was slower and not at the bar one would expect for a sushi place. The one server was very new, and tonight was swamped so I can't blame them, but there were times we were just sitting for 10 to 20 minutes trying to get the servers attention. I'm sure it'll get better over time; we plan on coming back out in 6 months time to see how it goes. The tea is delicious! The staff is super friendly and the ambiance is lovely- casual and eclectic yet very driven towards one theme.

Shima is professional in the truest sense of the word. I've been regularly dining with him for 13 years, we first met him when he was running another highly rated sushi location. Now that he has two locations of his own he is back at the knife and producing his own high-quality dishes. He does not have 'table side' cooking but dont let this fool you. His offerings are every bit as good [actually better] than many local places that do. The miso soup is one of my favorites, the bento box meals are the BEST! Shima and his staff make you feel more than welcome and you always feel like you are 'coming home' to dine with your Japanese friends. This is a must dine at location if you are new to the area, just passing through/visiting...If you are a local and love great Japanese food this will surely become a regular place for you to visit! :)

Fresh, tasty sushi offerings in a clean friendly atmosphere. Barriers between tables because of COVID. Service slow due to staffing shortages but upon entering, they informed us of the situation - we gladly waited and enjoyed our meal!

Let me start by saying I love sushi and have eaten a great deal of it in my time... We came here for an early dinner over a weekend. The waitress was rude and only came to our table when she had a roll ready for us, which made it difficult to ask for another drink. She also never smiled or gave her name or welcomed us. The area we sat was away from anyone else, and they have these wall/dividers all around, making it feel private, which I liked. The food, however, was not good. Every roll tasted bland and similar. So many had tempora shrimp on them even when we tried to order a large variety of rolls. The tempora shrimp was cold, rubbery, and frankly, and it seemed like it was cooked days beforehand. None of the rolls tasted crisp or fresh. I couldn't even eat more than one piece of each roll because I disliked them all, and so did our entire table of people. A meal that should have taken an hour took more than 2 hours! It took a long time between rolls for us to get another roll, and since we were so privately trucked away, we couldn't flag down anyone to get anything. We were forced to awkwardly sit and wait a lot. I was disappointed as was our whole table. The one highlight of our experience was an older woman who worked there. She smiled at us as we left and said hi to the children who were in our party. She even gave each child a package of cookies free of charge. Her personality was lovely and her smile contageous. If I could give her 5 stars I would. Aside from that last 30 second experience with her, this place is...

This used to be one of my favorite Sushi restaurants, but the customer service has become unbearably bad. Mr Shima was not there running the show, the older lady was. So that's what I chalk this up to. I walked in and waited 10 minutes at the front counter. No one came and greeted or seated me. I even opened the door twice so they would hear the bell ring. Nothing. I walked over and talked to the older lady, she said have a seat, someone will be with you shortly. I waited in my seat for 22 minutes... Twenty. Two. Minutes. No one came and gave me a water. Or a menu. Or even said hi to me. It was not very busy. Only 4 or 5 tables with people tops. Not even close to 50% capacity. Anyways, I got up and walked out (no one looked at me or acknowledged me at all), went to another restaurant and spent $76 on an excellent meal there instead. I've been coming since this place opened, and the food (and customer service) was always excellent. Recently though, this place has taken a turn for the worst. It will be a LONG time before I return, if ever, for a meal here. That might literally be the worst customer service I've ever...

I came here tonight with my mom and daughter. We have never eaten here before so we thought we’d give it a try! Needless to say, we will never be back here. It started out good, as we were seated right away and approached instantly with menus and was asked for our drink orders. However, after this, things started to go downhill. It took quite a while for them to come back to take our food order. When we did finally place our order, which consisted of 4 sushi rolls, crab rangoons, and kids nuggets, they brought out each item individually? I’ve never experienced that before. Because of this, they never brought out one of our rolls entirely. They also gave us the completely wrong appetizer. When we did confront them about missing an item, they seemed hesitant to fix the issue… it wasn’t until another lady approached us and shoved the menu in my mom’s face telling her what we ordered. I then proceeded to tell the lady what we ordered, as I did the ordering for all of us, and explained what we were missing. They did not even seem to care at all! I would never recommend this...
