After hearing so many recommendations, I found Al Ameer to be somewhat overrated. As out-of-state visitors, we had high expectations, but the food at this location was just OK - nothing particularly special or memorable. The only dish that stood out was their falafel, which I'd consider genuinely good. The location itself isn't ideal for families. The seating arrangements are not very comfortable, making it difficult to enjoy a relaxed meal with children. It seems more geared toward quick dining or takeout rather than a family dining experience. On a positive note, the service staff was attentive and tried their best to accommodate our requests, which is commendable considering the fast-paced, carry-out oriented environment of the restaurant. They were friendly and helpful despite the constraints of their setup. If you're looking for a quick meal or takeout, this might work for you, but I wouldn't make a special trip if you're expecting an exceptional Middle Eastern dining experience, especially with...

Check your food for foreign objects!!! My uncle and I recently ordered some food from Al Ameer for takeout, the food itself tasted fine, however there was a toothpick inside of the fresh baked bread that I was eating that ended up getting logged in the back of my throat. Long story short that ended up with a trip to the ER to get it removed not to mention the piece fell down my throat to cause potential unknown damage. Al Ameer was apologetic but never offered any assistance with medical bills or even a simple refund.. Their claim was that there's no way a toothpick could of got in the bread dough... But the fact of the matter is it did. I hope that whomever reads this post takes this into account the type of service/hospitality offered by Al Ameer because they flat out don't care about their customers and their apology is meaningless...
Read moreThe food at this new Canton location is just as fantastic as their Dearborn location. The hummus is flavorful and creamy, and the tabouli salad is fresh and flavorful. And the homemade pita is exceptional. The dining experience is not the traditional sit-down place like the Dearborn location w/ plates and waiters. It’s more to-go/carry-out with some tables in it. You order up front at the register when you walk in, and if you dine in, they will bring the food to your table. Food comes in their to-go containers, and they give you paper plates, which isn’t as nice an atmosphere, even if everything is clean and brand new. But the staff is super-friendly, and attentive to all your needs, and the food is so good, that my daughter and I recommend dining in over carry out, just so you can get the delicious homemade pita...
