Updated Review Disappointed by Both Food and Response.

I’m updating my review because Kakatiya claims there’s “no record matching my experience” and called my comments fabricated or exaggerated. That kind of dismissive and defensive response says a lot more about how they handle criticism than the food ever could.

To clarify: Yes, I dined here. Yes, the service was fine and the place was clean. But the food? Far from acceptable. I've added my receipt and images of the food here to ensure this is a true experience.

My food review is below:

The Chicken Vijayawada Biryani lacked flavor and was completely underwhelming.

The Malai Kofta Biryani was dry and bland, tasting like it had been sitting out too long. We were genuinely excited try this, and were really dissapointed to see that there was nothing 'malai like in it.'

The Chicken 999 was just red chili powder overload, without any actual flavor or nuance. The same spice added in their biryanis.

The Shahi Paneer lacked richness and flavor, which is surprising for a dish that’s typically creamy and spiced well, and had a total of 5 pieces of paneer.

The Garlic Naan was GREAT—but that's hardly worth writing home about when the rest of the meal misses the mark so badly.

What’s worse than mediocre food? A restaurant that refuses to accept honest feedback and instead questions the integrity of its customers. That alone guarantees I won’t be returning and I’d strongly advise others to consider their options. The Canton area has so many delicious Indian restaurants, the location that Kakatiya is located at has seen so much churn for the same reason... because the food wasn't amazing. 1000% appreciate when small business want to make things right with genuine visits, but a CHATGPT generated response and not taking accountability is...

A Flavorful Journey to South India: A Must-Visit Indian Restaurant

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible Indian restaurant, and I can confidently say that it’s a hidden gem for anyone who loves authentic South Indian cuisine.

The food is absolutely phenomenal, starting with their signature Biryanis – they serve them in the true South Indian style, and every bite is a perfect blend of fragrant spices and tender, flavorful meat. It’s clear that the chefs take pride in their craft and use only the best ingredients.

The Kababs and Apollo Fish are another standout. Both dishes are cooked to perfection, with the Kababs being juicy and tender, and the Apollo Fish offering a delightful balance of crispy and tender textures, paired with bold, well-seasoned flavors that truly hit the mark.

When it comes to the buffet’s desserts, while they are tasty, there’s a bit of room for improvement. However, they still provide a nice sweet finish to the meal and are enjoyable for those with a sweet tooth.

And finally, I can't forget to mention their Masala Chai/Tea – it’s nothing short of superb! A perfect blend of spices that warms you from the inside out. It's the ideal way to end a memorable meal.

We ordered catering from Kakatiya on Friday, September 12th for my daughter’s birthday party and it was nothing short of phenomenal!

With over 80 guests, the food was the highlight of the evening. We had 16 dishes spanning veg/non-veg appetizers, mains, biryanis, roti, sambar, papads, and rice and every item was bursting with authentic flavor and perfectly prepared.

Top crowd favorites included: Cashew Pakodi, Curry Leaf Gobi, Chicken 999, Nawabi Goat Curry, Bheemavaram Fry Piece Goat Biryani, Malai Kofta, and Apricot Delight. That said, everything was genuinely delicious.

Guests kept asking where the food was from.

Some even returned to the buffet with plates piled higher than before, joking they were on a "food pilgrimage" to revisit their favorite dishes.

The quantity was also spot-on generous enough that many guests took home leftovers and were thrilled to enjoy it the next day.
