Brace yourself! we're still in Canton, Mass, but Chef Fabi Amaral has brought the best of her gastronomic experiences from touring 29 countries. The menu presents a challenge—seeing a dish you didn't order as it passes you, like when the steak board walked by me...almost broke my neck in jealousy. The initial disappointment was quickly replaced by the BEST bone-in pork chop of my life, tender as filet mignon. A missed dish - a reason to return tomorrow.

Think of the best you ever had when ordering French onion soup, Caesar salad-I won't spoil it for you...you're in for a surprise, Arancini they are impossible to finish and soooo good, Bolognese that will make your Italian Nana cry, or a 32oz tomahawk seared to perfection. Risotto - I've never had or knew it was possible to be right on the edge of al dente. Even Brussels sprouts, once a GreenGiant childhood gag-trauma, are transformed into a gourmet delicacy crispy but juicy, I can't stop eating.
If Herschel or Nikki serve you, it feels like the restaurant belongs to YOUR family—a VIP gold fork Club membership feeling with relaxed family vibes. Twice I've had complete strangers excited to share and treat me like close friends from neighboring tables.
It's small so expect reservations hard to find or waiting for bar seats; the experience is worth it. Tomato Tornado or the Filthy Martini were the BEST. What's not Amazing? all I can say is the coffee is "not bad" but, I've built thousands of Cafes so I'm a coffee snob....And brunch? Picture perfect homefries and the lobster eggs Benedict are the best I've ever had. Croque Monsieur. -had never heard of and it's like a warm hug from my grandmother when I was a kid...No idea how that's possible in a dish.
Bottom line? It's a guarantee of "amazing" or "the best I ever had—anywhere—evvvvaahhh!" after every meal, the 5star bar was just reset, and, we're in Canton! with free parking next door.
Prices...it's fair but not free and you won't be disappointed...especially after a cremeBrûlée desert or the insane Caramel Truffles - can't describe - it's a Brazilian experience that doesn't exist here.

I really had such a bad time at this restaurant last night. We had a reservation at 7pm for 4 people. We were sitting outside waiting for someone to come over. No one came to even offer us water and it was 7:20. I had to go in and let the host know that we had been sitting for 20 mins for someone to come over. We were seen and ignored by multiple staff members while they brought food and drinks to tables next to us.
After talking to the host, someone finally came over and took drinks order. The drinks didn’t come for another 20 mins. It was 7:45 by the time we got the drinks. I had asked if they had a table inside since we were getting chilly then they said not right now so I made an inside reservation for 8:30 to have main course inside.
They didn’t come to take our apps order for another 15 mins. We finally ordered apps at 8pm. I let the server know I had made a reservation at 8:30 for inside online and the server said, “yeah if it’s available you can go inside”. Why would you take a reservation if it’s not available? Then the server said she will check on the availability for 8:30 even though I had reservation confirmation. Then when we got our apps around 8:20pm she said the table would be available at 8:30 for inside.
After finishing the appetizers we went inside at 8:30, however we were told the table isn’t ready yet and it will be another 5-10 mins. We waited at the vestibule and ordered the food before we sat down so we wouldn’t have to wait like the host suggested. We waited for 30 mins just for the table. We finally sat down at like 9pm. We had already ordered our food while waiting and it came at 9:30. The place closes at 10pm. We finished our food and left at 10:05pm.
The worst part about all of this is that there were no apologies, no acknowledgement that the service was egregious, and no accommodations made to make us feel atleast a little comfortable. Not even a complimentary coffee while we waited. For a pricey place this felt like such a waste of time and money while being treated so badly. We were there for 3 hours and left right after finishing our food. The food was good.
I don’t know if this was just last night but if you’re charging so much for food then pay enough to the workers so you’d be fully staffed and prepared for the reservations you take on. It also didn’t seem like other tables were waiting as long.
They clearly have preferential treatment depending on the customer. Four brown women didn’t attract decent service. We were ignored so much! I am so dissatisfied and disappointed because I had waited so long to eat at this place knowing it is a small business and would require local support. I will...
Read moreMy wife and I visited Elsie's table for dinner on a Friday evening. We did not have a reservation and were seated outside, as it was the only option available. The restaurant is ADA friendly, with elevators that accommodate wheelchairs and scooters.
Once seated, out waitress brought us menus, plates and utensils. I noticed that some tabled were served bread and butter while others weren't, including ours. Not sure if that was requested or a standard to serve it in the beginning. Also, it looked like there was only one waitress covering the entire restaurant, which may be the reason why there were delay in service.
We ordered the brussels sprout, chicken skewers, seafood chowder, seared scallops and the tagliatelle Bolognese. For drinks, we had the phony negroni and Sicilian lemonade. I highly recommend the Sicilian lemonade, was refreshing and sweet (came with huge blueberries). The drinks and starters came out in a reasonable time. The brussels sprout were crispy and flavorful and the chicken skewers were juicy and well seasoned with a refreshing side salad.
We were excited for the seafood shower, but after waiting for a bit, I asked for an update. That is when we were told the fish was no longer available, the table next to us had gotten the last order. The waitress mentioned a co-worker was supposed to inform us, but I felt she could have taken responsibility and communicated the change as well.
Unfortunately, the delay did not end there. After our starters, we waited quite while for our mains, at least 20 minutes (and that's from when I started timing). During that time, no one checked in or gave us any updates, which made the wait feel even longer. I understand if a restaurant is short staffed, but proactive communication makes a big difference. We even saw another table leave due to a lack of service and long wait.
Eventually our entrees arrived, and the food runner who brought them offered great service; checking in on us, offering new utensils and showing more attentiveness than we had received earlier. The seared scallops were slightly overcooked, but the risotto they came with was a nice touch. The tagliatelle Bolognese was a standout, flavorful and perfectly cooked. I would highly recommend that dish.
Overall, it is the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the food runner that gave a 4 star rating for me. If the food was not that great, this would have been more of a 1 or 2 star experience. I'll try Elsie's table again on a different day (hopefully the service would be...
