My husband and I visited for a late Sunday lunch/brunch. This was our first time and we really did not want to be confined to a preset brunch menu. So, we asked to order from the menu instead and they allowed us, which is not typical for Sunday, DT Canton restaurants. Riley (sp?) was our waitress. She provided amazing, efficient service and was so helpful with recommendations on food, drinks and desserts. We sampled it all and then some. She brought out chips and salsa first. The chips were so fresh and delicious. The salsa was unique and simply incredible. We ordered cheese dip with jalapeños and found it to be the same amazing quality as the chips and salsa. We decided on a craft cocktail of Borracha Saludable and a pineapple margarita with tajin rim. Again, the drinks did not disappoint… so fresh, unique and delicious. I ordered the enchiladas suizas de pollo and my husband got a grilled chicken quesadilla. We also received sides of rice, charro beans and the amazing grilled panela cheese. OMGoodness, delicious is an understatement and the portions are significant. Riley returned frequently to check on us and even recommended several desserts. We tried the secret recipe cuatro leches cake AND the corn cheese cake. They were delicious and unlike anything we have ever had. We had so much food left over to bring home.
My husband does not like “American”, Mexican food and thought he was taking one for the team by bringing me here. The entrees were phenomenal, freshly made and authentic. The husband agreed (and has traveled to different parts of Mexico as well sampling the local cuisine). The food was amazing. The environment and service were incredible. My husband even decided it was his favorite Mexican restaurant on the planet. I have to agree. We lacked for nothing in quality, quantity, ambiance...
Read moreWe recently visited this restaurant and while we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was very good, our service experience left a lot to be desired.
When we ordered Bloody Marys, they arrived missing two of the items listed on the menu (the bacon and the chamoy straw). When we brought this to our server’s attention, he seemed unfamiliar with the menu and went to ask the bartender. Unfortunately, I overheard the bartender respond dismissively, saying “no, it doesn’t come with that… maybe the michelada, but just give it to them.” The server then returned to our table and told us the drinks didn’t come with those items, without offering to correct it. I had the menu pulled up and showed him that it did, in fact, list those items. Several minutes later the bartender brought the missing garnishes, but neither she nor the server offered an apology. From that point forward, it felt like our table was being avoided.
I was happy to notice that as we were leaving, that other guests were being served Bloody Marys with the correct garnishes. So at least they learned corrected their mistake for others
Again, the food and atmosphere were enjoyable, but the lack of professionalism and courtesy from the staff left a negative impression on what otherwise could have been a great experience. The staff needs to be properly trained...
Read moreThis past week, my husband and I decided to try something new for his birthday dinner and we ended up here. We thought the menu was a bit overpriced, but were willing to try it. Even though the waitress was a bit giggly towards my husband when he asked a few questions about the menu, I decided to ignore it. The guacamole tasted like chipotle guac, very premade and just a strong lime flavor not much else. The tacos with the crispy cheese were most definitely the best thing we had. The quatro leches was okay nothing too special. But to end the night after celebrating my HUSBANDS birthday and just a few weeks ago, celebrating our wedding anniversary (thank goodness we went somewhere else) our waitress asked us if it was a separate check and when I said “uh we’re married” she said I “didn’t realize” ? Meanwhile, we both have our rings on and are definitely not acting like a first date.. Just had a sour end to the meal and we will definitely not be returning. I highly suggest you train your staff to pay attention to who they’re serving and probably not ask a couple who’s celebrating something if they’re on a separate check. Our rings were fully visible on the table, we have 3 children together and this felt really weird to ask and not even apologize for the mistake just laugh… and then hover over the table watching...
