Bizarre Coffee (CANTON) — Restaurant in Canton

I was a daily regular at this shop when it was Great & Plenty, so I was very nervous when Bizarre took over. Overall this is a pretty good coffee shop, the owners are enthusiastic and energetic, and the brand is certainly distinctive.

Pros: The drip coffee is definitely the best around, particularly the light-roast Sumatra, which is an interesting and unique take on a single origin coffee that most people associate with dark and smoky flavors.

The food is delicious. I have yet to have a meal here that wasn't exceptionally good for a small cafe like this.

Cons: The espresso drinks are a bit subpar in my opinion, closer to what you'd expect from a second-wave cafe than a modern coffee shop. Bizarre does not seem to have joined the trend of using medium-roast unique single or dual-origin beans for their espresso, opting rather for the more traditional dark roast. The result is a slightly bitter espresso that is full-bodied but lacks any distinctive flavor notes.

The staff could use a bit more training for preparing pour-over coffees. Both of my pour-overs here were brewed using pre-ground beans in an unrinsed paper filter, and no bloom time was used. The result was a slightly papery taste, thin body, and under-extracted flavor (none of the typical fruity or citrus notes could be found in this Ethiopian!)

The coffee beans themselves are a bit confusing. Rather than being identified by origin and roast level, they use blanket terms like "Africa" and "Tropics" which give no insight into what kind of coffee you're getting. It may be worth considering adding some additional information (roast level, bean varietal, elevation, tasting notes, etc) to help the customer decide which coffee they want.

Overall, not a bad coffee shop, and certainly a step up from Starbucks or Dunkin. Probably a wonderful place for the average consumer, but not quite the go-to spot for coffee...

Alright yall..I was influenced ! Saw this place on TikTok and about 2 hours later, I was THERE ! It’s located downtown so you may have to walk a little bit depending on where you are, but it so worth the walk, and the wait !

The place is so small and cozy, and even has this loft area upstairs that’s peaceful, at least it was while I was there ! I ordered one of their signature Valentine’s Day drinks, a red velvet cheesecake latte with almond milk ! I loved that while I was ordering, they asked for my milk preferences before I could even get it out ! Coming from someone who has gastroparesis (a stomach condition), and can’t have Diary..this made the visit so much better ! They are so inclusive with their menu, and have something for everyone ! They have Chai, matcha, coffee, etc ! If you don’t want anything to drink, they have food too ! I did not try their food while I was there, but I’m sure it’s good ! They’re really do have something for everyone if you’re not sure what you want !

The staff really are the sweetest, and I can tell that they are all definitely good workers ! All of the staff were so sweet to me and surrounding customers ! When I went In there, the place was semi packed, but I still only waited about 5 minutes for my drink ! The coffee itself was fantastic !

It was about $8 for my drink, but I think that’s because of the almond milk, and the signature coffee I purchased ! If you are in Canton or around it, GO TO THIS PLACE ! Check out their social media too ! You won’t...

This place is really good! The regular coffees are on point, but I go for the seasonal special flavors and the excellent customer service. I've searched for delicious flavored coffee, and this place fulfills my wildest imagination of flavor profiles. These handcrafted beverages are amazing, and unique, you won't find them anywhere else. Subtle hints, to full flavored experiences. Creamy blueberry, peanut butter, lavender, honey, peaches, spicy, you name it they have it all, and the coffee profiles come first followed by an accommodating freshly made taste of your preference. The staff here are very attentive to one's order. Always friendly, professional, and polite. They work hard to move orders as quickly as possible in the limited space they have. I wait longer at the bucks, then I do here on average. This line moves quick! The morning manager is a real boss! She always insures my experience is good, and can multitask while holding a conversation. She really holds it down, while most would cave under pressure. This is my go to coffee shop! ☕️ highly recommended anyone...
