I had the worst haircut of my life at this salon. My regular hair stylist had moved and I went to Ping Segars Salon based on the 5-star reviews. I saw Rebecca, just like the woman with the recent (and only) other 1-star review. Like hers, my haircut also ended up looking nothing like the example pics I discussed with Rebecca. The result was much shorter with clumpy, thick layers all around. I was embarrassed going into work the next day. I kept asking myself why this had happened to me. How could I be the only one with problems among all those happy 5-star reviews? I didn’t say anything at the salon. I got to my car and cried. When I finally had grown out enough hair to cut again, I went to a bigger salon in Atlanta. I asked for a high-level stylist with experience in fixing bad cuts. This would not be cheap. My new stylist said the haircut I had been given looked like a basic beginner cut from at least 20 years ago. He said shorter cuts require more skill and that unfortunate haircuts like the one I had gotten were more common with stylists who hadn’t really advanced beyond what they learned in beauty school. He told me his salon required that even educators participate (not just teach) with continuing education, because everyone can improve and learn from others. I showed him the same example photos I used at Ping Segars. When the Atlanta stylist finished the cut, my hair almost looked longer than when he began. No obvious ugly heavy layers, everything just flowed together. I almost cried - from happiness this time. A bad haircut isn’t the end of the world but, not so long ago, some people I had only recently met were quietly inquiring of my friends if I had been sick, referring to “the hair”. It did not look like a hairstyle anyone would willing choose. I was stuck like that for months. I kept looking at the Ping Segars reviews to see if I was still the only one. But if we are afraid to post about a bad experience, how would anyone ever know if they are the only one? Not to mention, it limits others’ opportunities, potentially, to make a better-informed decision. That hit home with this recent review from someone who had an experience very similar to mine. That woman says she wishes she had read a review like the one she was writing – before she got that last haircut. I could have been that review but I didn’t want to be the only one. The only thing I can do now is to make it known that she isn’t...
Read moreWould NEVER recommend this salon for a haircut. I decided to try this salon to treat my self after reading so many wonderful reviews but am still shocked and saddened at my experience here. I paid for a haircut and blowdry, but was somehow in my stylist's chair for less than 10 minutes. She said she cuts hair better dry so I told her to go for it thinking she would wash and blowdry after. Not at all! She cuts my hair which is by far the choppiest, botched job I've ever received. I ask for a pretty straight forward cut: a trim of the dead ends, face framing layers and additional layers to add dimension throughout my hair. She took like 2 or 3 sections pulled them in front of my face and cut. She did not take into account my side part and now my face framing strands are not even close to even. My stylist then went on and on about how I have no dead ends at the moment since my hair was so healthy and beautiful. I had not had a haircut in 7 months so not sure how that could be truthful. THEN she proceeds to blowdry my already dry hair that I came into the salon with super quickly using ZERO products? I am then rushed out of the chair and to the desk to pay. I was so bamboozled that I couldn't speak up to ask what...
