UPDATE: 9/16/2023 Back at Rosetta's! Enjoyed it again! Sat outside again even in the damp, cool air I had a wonderful birthday evening! We called ahead to make sure server Munchie would be there and they would be serving outside because it was a little cool. Our table was set and ready when we got there. Had stuffed shells and veal saltimbocca, both decent but we liked our previous meals here better (veal marsala and the sirloin), and the bread was still awesome! The cocktail Oatmeal Cookie was way too much whiskey and it overpowered the whole drink. Munchie had offered to replace it or remove it but I declined as I didn't want to do this to a place I enjoy. I will stick to the Banana Cream Pie cocktail. The owner came out at one point to say hello and check on us. Munchie surprised me with a little Tiramisu, which was eaten, and I heard it was real good! (I dislike coffee flavor). We will definitely be back.
9/1/2023 1st time at Rosetta's, Friday, early evening. On street parking. We chose to sit outside, so I just popped my head in the door and someone was right there and told us to go ahead and a server will be right out. So I never stepped foot inside and cannot review the eating indoor experience. Out came our server, Munchie, who was delightful and pleasant the whole time. Other servers also checked in with us as they all want the guests to have the best service and food. I do not frequent too many Italian restaurants as it is not my favorite, but Rosetta's has burgers, steaks, seafood, so here we were. We ordered specialty cocktails - 4 total and all different. They were all great, even with missing garnishes (crumbled graham cracker and crushed peppermint - not on same drink). Also ordered an app of Mamma Rosetta's meatballs, bread with olive oil & seasoning, veal marsala, Rosetta's sirloin, and chocolate mousse cake. All were excellent!! We loved everything! My sirloin came with mashed potato and the vegetable was a summer squash mix. Perfect! I am told the veal marsala was so superb!
Pricing is in line with other restaurants in the Boston metro area, but it seems the portions may be a little bigger. We had left overs to bring home. Yea!!! Looking forward to them so much!
We will definitely be back and will ask for our very attentive and happy server, Munchie.
Info for others: I did not see any handicapped accessible ramp at the entrance to the dining room, which does have just a few stairs. Maybe there is a stairless option through the front bar entrance, but I...
Read moreWe decided to dine here for Mother's Day dinner as this was one of the few places still taking reservations the week of. I'm not sure if the time we went they were on boarding new staff/waitresses but the entire experience was something to be desired.
Right upon our arrival the Hostess does not see our reservation thinking that we had it for a party of 5 for 4PM instead of party of 4 at 5PM. We were then lead to our table at the farthest reaches of the restaurant by a very young and inexperienced waitress. During the entire time she neglected to check in on us at the appropriate times and did not fill our waters until we asked her at least twice.
We ordered one appetizer, oysters rocker feller which was very tasty. We received our plain entrees about half an hour later. The grilled haddock special only had one fillet so we sent that back as this was not what we were expecting and ordered something else. The waitress was bewildered by this request at first but she took the order back. In the end they did bring out a complimentary tiramisu dessert to makeup for the previous disappointments. Good on them for at least trying to end on...
Read moreIt was Saturday and they were very busy. It was a last minute decision to eat out and our party of five, understandably, had to wait for a bit before being sat. My four year old started whining because he was hungry. I got up to ask for some bread. I was THAT person… I know… The man at the front desk seemed harried and it felt like he didn’t really want to be there. He said he’d let our server know. I told him, she’s clearly busy and I have no problem bringing the bread myself. It wasn’t a reflection of poor service. The place is relatively small and was completely packed. To me, that’s a sign they are doing something right! Instead of explaining that bread is made to order, I was told, “The more you talk, the longer this will take.” Ok. Thank you. I made sure that his rudeness towards me was not reflected on our server via her tip. The young woman was friendly and professional. The food was delicious but leave the calorie counter outside!
TL/DR: Make reservations ahead of time. The food is really good, albeit, not the healthiest. Totally worth the wait! Man at the front...
