This is a review of their wonderful customer service. We visited on July 5th during the holiday weekend and had a craving for some oysters. We picked up a dozen oysters from here and some adult beverages. After getting back to where we were staying we found the oysters to be spoiled (they were on ice). We did the tap check and shucked a few but they were all dry and hollow sounding. It happens with oysters. The 5 star review is because of how they handled it. They could have been nasty and been like "ahhh dang tourist go pound sand" but they listened and understood our issue and refunded our money for the oysters. Great customer service and especially with such a delicate seafood item; things happen. Will be returning for sure to try their other foods.
Only comment to management would be to teach the younger crowd serving the seafood how to test oysters to see if they are still good. The tap test that us oyster lovers are familiar with may have saved the whole ordeal and steered us towards on of their other oyster offerings they had. We really wanted to try the famous "little bit**" from the shore though. Next time :-)
Thank you to the owner and manager (Steve) for being great and understanding. Oysters are a sensitive food and its up to the consumer, not only the vendor, to always be careful with these...
Read moreWe were driving through the area and went around noon on a hot, summer Monday. It wasn’t busy but was steady. I’ll give them another try one day because I want to love it, but my husband and daughter said they won’t go with me. My veggie sandwich hit the spot. Well, the bread was pretty dry, but I could tell it was normally awesome haha. Any place that adds alfalfa sprouts and simple avocado to a veggie sandwich is a legitimate market. Unfortunately, they got my daughter’s plain “just turkey, cheese, and mayo” sandwich wrong (they added bacon and an orange-colored sauce), so she barely ate, and my husband said his sandwich was “meh”. We all agreed the fries are delicious. The guy who runs the place was great! He hustles and obviously cares. Of note: They were training a few new employees that day, so we waited almost an hour outside for our food. This was made worse because they didn’t have the ceiling fans running on such a hot day (not sure why?), and there were bugs everywhere. He brought us a large, free bag of chips as an apology during the wait— very nice of them!—, but they were a flavor no one cared for, unfortunately. We paid $80 for this lunch! No alcohol included. Again, I think our experience was the exception, but it was pretty disappointing...
Read moreThis was the strangest thing I've ever experienced at a place to eat. Yesterday we drove straight down from visiting family in Philly, and needed to stop, stretch our legs, and eat. Since we had two more hours to drive, we stopped at the usual place for a quick sandwich, Beach Market. At that time, it was about 6:00 PM on a Saturday. It's never crowded when we're there, and it's ok for a quick takeout snack. We walked in and they were serving one other person on the deli side. The server turned to us and announced they were closing. I said, "But the sign says you close at 8:00." He said, "We haven't had much traffic, so we are closing now." I thought to myself, "But now you have two customers in front of you." Not being one to force someone to work when they don't want to, we left. We continued down the road, and every place was packed. We parked and went from place to place, and we couldn't get in anywhere. All restaurants were either booked or had very long lines. As we left town, we stopped by Smalls BBQ. They were busy, but friendly and accommodating. And they had very good food. So now that is our new place to stop whenever we are at...
