My wife and I decided to meet another couple from out of town and met at Fathoms and drinks afterwards outside to enjoy the live music and busy atmosphere found on a Tuesday night. The food was enjoyed by all four of us and would of rated the restaurant and easy 4 to 5 stars based on that ! unfortunately, what followed afterwards was a strong one star. After finishing our dinner traveled outside and was able to get a table for the 4 of us. My wife a bit later decided to re-enter the restaurant to enter a bathroom. Fathoms inside their restaurant has a total of 2 small bathrooms which are both labeled Women/Men. My wife entered the bathroom that was labeled unoccupied and was dealt a shocking surprise! There was a chubby man with short cropped hair with his pants down to his ankles shaking his wazoo in front of my wife. She decided not to make a scene due to the fact we didn't want to involve the other couple and ruin our night out. The same man decided to follow my wife around outside the restaurant and make unpleasant remarks. I didn't know about the bathroom experience until after arriving home. She was clearly upset about her experience with this pervert and called Fathoms up on the phone, who wouldn't give her name, and tell her of the incident. The woman manager displayed a non professional attitude and asked my wife if she wanted money. The manager attempted to put the onus on my wife for not knocking on the door ,which was not locked. She asked if she wanted money and my wife had mentioned that it would be up to them to offer compensation. I told my wife to call them back up and tell them we didn't want their money, but wanted them to change their policy. Two bathrooms ,should mean one for men and the other one for women. A gentleman called back soon after and told me that this was the first time this situation happened in their restaurant and they were not interested in changing their policy. I told him I would be adding this review to social media to advise other people about their non labeling of their bathrooms. Nice restaurant but non...
Read moreWent to Fathoms for my wife’s belated early November Birthday which was held up 2 months due to her surgery. I don’t know where to start, it was the worst experience we have ever had at any restaurant in Cape Coral and we thought Rumrunners was upsetting after their change. We’ve been going to Fathoms regularly and for special times like our’s and friends Birthday's and Anniversaries for the last 3 years. Fathoms was it, but no more!!! For the 3rd time we received our steaks so undercooked the inside was blue/purple at the end piece that I cut. Also, where is the Carpaccio? It’s one of the main reasons we and our friends went to you establishment! You still have the sliced beef ends on the menu which are actually the remains of a cut up from you leftover beef tenderloin filet. We can go to any restaurant in the area that serves filet on their menu. If you had any class you wouldn’t even think of selling that!! We’re all trying to pay our bills and save money but when you sell that, that’s what you will get as customers, cheap garbage tipping people which effects your staff and then the good ones leave and we as customers are stuck with what we had to deal with today!! You people have lost it!!! You made my wife cry today!!! I went in and talked to the manager about same and all she said was sorry. You people are better than that. Also, after explained everything to the manager in disgust I was going out the door and I heard them laughing at me. I returned and explained to them that is was my wife’s first time out after 2 months and that wasn’t nice. They then said they were sorry for laughing at me. You all lost it. We and our friends will never ever be back to your establishment. You all don’t deserve our friendship!! Shame on all of you!! You the owners are the problem,...
Read moreThis is a very nice restaurant with excellent service. Hallie was our waitress and she knocked it out of the park. This was my first time at Fathoms.. We were there to try the Sizzle Dining. Go to sizzledining.com for more information.
For the appetizer I ordered the Salt and Pepper Crispy Calamari, and she order the Black & Blue Bread. The Calamari was not very good, too much batter and the deep fryer oil was old, you could taste it. I should have taken a picture. On the other hand, the Black & Blue Bread was fantastic, well executed. After tasting the calamari we called Hallie over and expressed our displeasure with the appetizer, she promptly recommended the Tsunami Roll and had it to us very quickly. It was very good.
For the main course I order the Pan Roasted Sea Scallops, and she ordered the New York Streak Frites. The pasta cream sauce paired very well with the perfectly cooked scallops. I would highly recommend this dish. She steak was order medium rare and it was cooked perfectly, and it was seasoned well. This is also another recommended dish.
For dessert I had the Key Lime Pie and she ordered the Dulce de Leche Chocolate Mousse. Both desserts were done well. The Key Lime pie was tart with a very good crust. The mousse also tasted very good.
Overall, I would recommend...
