A friend of mine and I came to Cape Coral for vacation in March. We visited Rumrunners on a few occasions. It was in very close proximity to where we were staying and with the large menu and drink options, we weren't going to be getting bored with the offerings. The first time we visited was at lunch time. I ordered the White fish appetizer and the restaurants own classic Rumrunner's on the rocks drink. Both were amazing! I loved how the dip came with julienne sliced cucumbers and two cracker selections. We were sat at a marble top table overlooking the channel. It was beautiful, I even got a picture of a large bird flying close to the water. Our server Billie was very nice and attentive. One of the managers named Joe even stopped by the table to ask how our visit was going. All of the servers seemed to be buzzing around happily taking care of their guests. The second time I visited was for my Birthday dinner. We were sat at a table outside down by the water about 25 minutes before sunset. It made for beautiful surroundings for my Birthday dinner. Anthony was our server and while he was busy, that did not take away from the great service we received. One of the managers, Joe, whom I'd also seen on my first visit, came to the table as he had heard it was my Birthday, I think my friend mentioned it to the hostess. He was very nice and accommodating. We ordered the bread appetizer and it was really good, nice and warm and had spreadable butter. I also had the half order of the wedge salad, it was so crisp and delicious. For my main course I decided on the Lobster Ravioli. It had creamy rich sauce and good sized ravioli. I couldn't finish it, not because it wasn't delicious though! My friend ordered the Macaroni and Cheese with seafood. She LOVED it. I also had a frozen Raspberry Pina Colada with a dark rum floater. It was so good and creamy and the raspberry went very well with the Pina Colada flavor, and I would definitely recommend them. After dinner about 5 servers came out with a piece of chocolate cake and sang Happy Birthday to me. It was such a nice experience. They even have a gift shop area with their Rumrunners brand on clothing and other merchandise. I purchased some comfortable shorts and I can't wait until its warm enough back here in Michigan to wear them. While at dinner, manager Joe mentioned that we should come back the next day for the "Rock the Docs" event that they do every couple of months. This time, it was a St. Patrick's Day celebration. My friend and I decided we definitely would be in attendance. There was a band playing from 1p-4p called "American Band" and they put on a great show! There were a lot of people there enjoying drinks, food and music. We dressed the part for St. Pats and had a wonderful time. After the show was over at 4p we went into the bar area and ordered the Charcuterie board. It had an assortment of sliced cheeses, fresh fruit, crackers and thin sliced meats. The restroom was clean and even had a beautiful fresh flower bouquet on the hand washing sink. Another thing I found really cool was there are places to take pictures. There is a backdrop that is perfect for pics and this old black car in front of the restaurant along with one of those oversized Adirondack style chairs. There is also a red old style phone booth. My friend and I definitely took advantage of the props and got some great pictures to commemorate the experience. While I didn't have any children with me, there is an area outside that has sand for the kids to play in. The ones I saw playing there were having a great time. I will definitely be coming back to Rumrunners at Cape Harbour the next time I'm...
Read moreWe went to rum runners for lunch, the upside of the visit was a guy named Bobby Stillwell on the patio and he was amazing. Entertainer, played guitar, keyboard, saxophone and son very well. Son very well. Downside was the food. We ordered the equivalent of the Philly steak and cheese, it came with two pieces of cheese laid on top that were not even partially melted, the sandwich was about 4 in Long boat, pieces of bread were hard as a rock + the steak, onions and mushrooms. We're mostly dry meat, I didn't see a mushroom, and some onions that were sauteed. My partner had the chicken sandwich, which was better. The bun was soft + the fries were hot. However, the waiter was training somebody and it was clear. The trainee was paying more attention than the waiter. We asked for two glasses of water and a glass of ice to chill the white wine, the ice never showed up even after the food was served. Until the trainee happened to walk by the table and notice no glass with just ice. I believe her name was Daniella. She immediately went and got the ice and brought it back. We were very grateful. The only time the waiter came back was to see if we wanted another drink probably 20 minutes later and then when I said no he asked if I would like desserts and we said no. Without asking. He brought us the check. We were enjoying watching Bobby Stillwell, but apparently the waiter believed that since we weren't going to at that moment order anything else we were finished but he never asked. Asked. This is not a good person to have training a new weight person. We will go back to see the entertainment but...
Read moreRumrunners in Cape Coral is my favorite place to go to for a drink and a meal. The service is great, wonderful views of the waterway, and their food and drinks are always delicious.
I have been a patron of Rumrunners for many years in all their capacities. From fine dining inside, casual meetups in the bar, having lunch outside on the waterway, and being part of large group get togethers; I never have had a bad experience (except when they runout of their grouper sandwiches ;)
During the winter months this place can be busy and I recommend calling ahead to make a reservation if you are limited for time. But they have a great bar while waiting for a table.
In the spring and summer when the visitors have returned North, seating is more available.
The waterway walkway is designed for boat tieups so you can enjoy ending your day at sea in Rumrunners. Anysize of boat that can navigate the waterway can tie up if a space is open (busy in the winter). There is a gas dock located nearby on the same walkway.
Parking is free outdoors. But for the first time in my many years of being a patron to the local businesses Realmark Reality, who owns the parking garage, has started to charge to park indoors (clearly not helping patrons who make the real estate valuable or business owners that attract us patrons).
The good news there is plenty of parking around the restaurant outside and if needed you can park a bit further away near the locks, at no cost; it truly is a beautiful place walk.
Without a doubt to fully enjoy your Cape Coral experience you need to...
