When my boyfriend and I first arrived to Gregory's, a girl yelled out to us to sit anywhere. We found a seat quickly, because there was only two other customers and sat down. Another girl came up to us and told us someone will be with us shortly. Once more, another girl arrived to our table, and introduced herself as our waitress. We went ahead and ordered our drinks. My boyfriend ordered a cranberry juice which they told him will not be cold. Which is no big deal. A little ice can help. Our food took forever to arrive. About 30 minutes. I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese muffin. My boyfriend ordered French toast with eggs and fixings on the side. With my boyfriends plate came condiments of butter and syrup for his French toast. There was three butter packets on his plate. One of those packets was opened, and the contents were emptied. We alerted the waitress to come over and explain this to her. She tried to excuse the opened butter packet being left on the plate underneath the hot lamp and one had exploded. However, these butter packets were not warm to the touch and this specific empty butter packet had been scooped out by some type of utensil. And if that were the case, then there would be butter on the plate. I tried picking up the packet and explaining this to her, and it felt like it was going in one ear and out the other. She said, "well."and then she walked off to the kitchen. It took another couple minutes for my boyfriend to get her attention again to inform her that we will pay for the drinks, but will not be eating the food or paying for it. The waitress then said, "okay." She came back a minute later and told us we did not have to pay for the drinks. I cannot speak for my boyfriend, however, I can speak for how I felt and I feel like the waitress didn't take our matter very seriously. She had a small attitude during this whole matter. All I could think about is how this specific butter packet was on someone else's plate and obviously touched another customers fingers, was then placed on my boyfriends plate. The same plate that he was about to eat off of. The French toast was not cooked long enough and the home fries didn't look cooked at all. It looked like both of our plates were not cooked long enough. My boyfriend and I were polite this whole time and never raised a commotion. My boyfriend is a disabled veteran and every Thursday morning, we go to the park and then we have brunch afterwards. This experience was so upsetting that we did not have...
Read moreI love eating out at new places and bringing friends and family for the experience. I have to say this was the worst Experience I have encounter eating out. I arrived at gregory's with my girlfriend For breakfast yesterday. Right from the start the service was awful. There was no hostess to greet us. The restaurant only had a few customers for such a huge Location. A waitress signal my girlfriend and I to take a seat anywhere. There were five waitresses and it seemed like nobody wanted to work. Finally one waitress came over and asked us which drinks we would like to be served. After she came back with our drinks she took down our food order. It took well over twenty minutes for a place that was nearly empty to bring us our food. The food came out disgusting. There was an open butter container. When I The waitress why I was given a container that was open and use , She simply told me Whatever excuse she can come up with quickly at the time that I was not buying. I told her I would not eat any of the food I order and I would pay for my drinks and leave. She told me she was gonna talk to the manager and when she came back she said I did not have to pay for the drinks. I was surprised that no manager came out to talk to me. It just shows what kind of establishment this place is and why it was empty. I don't recommend anybody to dine at this location. Because of the service and the food...
Read moreI had the absolute pleasure of visiting Old Cuban Restaurant in Cape Coral, and I can confidently say this was one of the best Cuban dining experiences I’ve had since leaving Cuba. The moment I walked in, I felt like I had been transported back home — the smells, the flavors, the music, the warmth of the people.
I ordered a Cuban sandwich, and I honestly haven’t tasted one that authentic and perfectly made in years. The bread was crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and the flavors were spot-on. It brought back memories of my childhood in Havana.
What truly made the experience unforgettable was the service. The staff was kind, welcoming, and attentive — they made me feel like family. You can tell they care about every detail, from the presentation of the dishes to the way they greet every customer with a smile.
The restaurant itself is clean, cozy, and full of character. It’s the kind of place where tradition meets heart — something that’s hard to find these days.
I can’t wait to come back. If you’re anywhere near Cape Coral and want real Cuban food that touches the soul, Old Cuban Restaurant is a must-visit. Places like this...
