DECEMBER 2018
Thai Nawa, Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
This is my favorite place for comfort food, Thai style.
The food is always fresh, looks great & taste great. One of the few joints where you can get it so hot it makes your eyeballs sweat.
I went for the national dish of Pad Thai. Everyone fav. You cannot go wrong. The spicier the better for this entree. Plus some fried dumplings for a appetizer.
Service is always stellar.
A tip on parking. There is one handicapped stall plus other spaces if you use the back door. Per fire regulations this door is always unlocked. Parking can be difficult the food is that good.

Thai Nawa, Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
This is one of my favorite places. The food is filling and as hot & spicy as you can get.
I got the chef special Pad Paradise. A twist on the national dish with added stuff.
I got it so it literally made my eye balls sweat. Along with a thai tea. Service is always outstanding.
Lets not forget the crispy spring rolls. Very thin and crunchy.
If you love Thai cuisine you MUST come to this casual wonderful eatery.
But be warned. Asking for a number 4 on the heat scale WILL burn your lips.
Wimps in florida stick to 3 or a 2.

Well as of this writing Thai Nawa has been open for about 19 days. As all new places it is having growing pains and need to make adjustments. My server Destiny was outgoing and a bit chatty. I finally found a eatery which knows what hot & spicy means. So if you are NOT a wimp order thai hot. My dish Spicy basil was hot and delish. All ingredients were fresh and made to order. The prices were a tad high, but, when dealing with ethnic foods you pay more when obtaining good quality authentic stuff. So give them some love and patience and review them is 6 months. If they do not make your expectation then by all mean stop being a patron & trash them...
Read moreWe were looking forward to trying out this new restaurant and unfortunately, I think we came at a bad time. It didn't go well - the online reservation system seemed to work, as I made it for 6:30 for 3 - we were a bit late since we didn't account for traffic but she had already cleared our table. There appeared to be one person handling all the tables, till, clean up, etc - she seemed a bit overwhelmed. She got to us as soon as she could, took our drink order, and asked if we were ready to order, so after about 15 mins we ordered some soup - 2 orders of wonton soup, an order of LAAB salad, cashew chicken, thai basil with chicken and LAAB Tacos I had the opportunity to see a bit into the kitchen and holding area. Everything seemed to be in disarray. After waiting a very long time, the server came over and provided me with my cashew chicken order, it was lukewarm, supposed to be medium hot, it was not and there were NO cashews - very dry to taste. I ask at that time where the soups and appetizer was, she just walked away. I had eaten almost half of the meal when 1 of the wonton soups arrived, very little wonton, 1 shrimp, and lots of broth. Both said the broth was very good. I happened to notice that the order of 3 tacos was sitting there at the holding spot but we were still waiting for the second soup to arrive. The LAAB salad arrived but there was no notice of lime dressing, no lettuce but it was spiced as requested - we like it hot but it was dry. Still no soup..... Finally, the soup arrived, and shortly thereafter the cold tacos and the thai basil came. There was a lot of food and since it was our first time here there was an opportunity to educate us on the portion size of each dish. While there, others were a bit frustrated and we even witnessed a take-out order come back and the woman did not look happy. I understand that this restaurant has just opened but clearly, there are opportunities for improved communication with customers, service, food delivery and in the correct order. There was no apology or appreciation for wait etc. At this point, I would not recommend going to this restaurant until they fix some of this...
Read moreJust went to Thai Café for the first time. We'd previously been to Thai Nuawa several times. They've given the front of house a nice clean face-lift. We were immediately greeted and seated upon arrival. Service was prompt and friendly. We ordered the prawn crisps and crab coral (rangoon). The crab coral was savory and very good. The prawn crisps are made in-house and are very good. I liked mine with just a little salt. It seemed to really bring out the flavor. The dipping sauces were good, but I'm not a big dipper. I had the angry bamboo with chicken, medium heat, and my wife had the Cape Curry. Both dishes were very good! Portion sizes were large. Food came out quickly and was all freshly made. My angry bamboo had very good flavor. I like spicy food, and I wasn't sure how to gauge their spice levels, so I went with medium. I could have used it hotter, and they had ground chilies at the table, so I doctored it up. My wife's curry was excellent, there was plenty of crab flavor, and the spice level was nice. It's served over fresh cooked spaghetti noodles, which was different. My personal preference would be for rice, which I'll ask for next time. I think it soaks up the sauce better. Once more, my personal preference. They'll fix it how you like. We'll definitely go back. I'm looking forward to trying some of the other dishes. I saw 6 other people's dishes come out, and they all looked delicious! Give this place a try. Keep in mind that they are still a new restaurant, but I didn't notice any...
