I have gone here 3 times, and unfortunately have had a worst experience each time I went.
The first time was a couple years ago and the room was labeled as 'Beginner'. I honestly can't remember what the room was named but I do remember really enjoying it.
The second time, I went to the Mad Hatter room a couple months ago with my best time. This was a multi room experience which was very cool, and the rooms where nicely decorated. The puzzles where unique and interactive, one of which involved a giant chess board which you had to use to receive the answer. One critique I do have is that, at times, you would have to go to a previous room to complete a puzzle and continue with your game, however it wasn't always clear if or which room you had to go back to. This left us lost and wandering through the rooms. I think a possible solution to this would be to add specific decor, like a tea set, to a room then have the clue be from a certain character, like the mad hatter, and inside the clue have it reference that specific item, like the mad hatter ending the clue with 'I could really use a cup of tea to clear my head'. This would make it more clear on what direction you would need to go in. Also, a couple of the clues were slightly low quality. For example we unlocked a puzzle which was a paper that had been laminated then was cut up. This caused the laminate to peel up and make the words hard to read. Overall, I would give this room a 3.5/10.
Now, my last experience is why I am writing this review. I went yesterday night with my boyfriend and I did not enjoy the room at all. We did the casino room and for the first 10 minutes it was good. Then we started collection more and more of the same lock. At one point we ended with 4 of the exact same combination locks and very little direction on what to do or how to use the items to get the combinations. I know this room is labeled 'intermated/hard', however when you think you figured out the puzzle and gotten the combination, you have to try it on 4 different locks to see if it works, and if/when you're wrong, you are back at square 1 with 4 locks. This becomes frustrating and respective. Having to figure out if your answer id correct and to which lock it goes to does not make a room hard. Having the puzzles being engaging and more thought provoking does. One puzzle that included cards was very finnicky. It included 5 cards, we had them in the right order but since they weren't in the exact spot, nothing happened. Overall, this room needs different locks and more engaging puzzles. I would give this room a 1/5.
I also had a big issue with both the mad hatter and casino room. In both rooms we would ask for clues and would have either a couple minute delayed response, or no response at all. This is really frustrating when your stuck and you receive no help that you asking for, or your stuck wasting a couple of minutes waiting for the employees to notice and help you. I understand they have other obligations than to sit and which people ask for clues, but when I am paying for a timed experience, I don't want it to be wasted on your employees not noticing or not being able to see I am asking for help as they are completing their other duties. Maybe, a buzzer would be more effective? This way the employee could hear if a room needs help when they are away from the cameras?
Overall I would say, I would recommend trying the mad hatter room only if it is one sale and to completely skip the casino room until it...
Read moreI Booked my Teenagers here when this place First Opened a Couple Years ago, however they had a Policy that did not allow teenagers in the Escape Room without a "Paid" Parent/Babysitter/Supervisor in the Group. Now I see they have added a Waiver, as I suggested to the owners at the Time my Teenagers wanted to go there with their friends. Parent signs off on responsibility for any damaged items, and then they can charge your credit card if the teens damage any props or items in the Escape Room.
It's Difficult to get Google to remove a legitimate review, however the owners somehow convinced Google to remove my original review, so I'm posting again. It probably would have been easier to just give the Customer some vouchures for future so the customer would update and Give Positive Reveiw after they experienced Escape the Cape.My Story was that I booked online and then my teenagers were denied entry “Due to No Parent or Adult Supervisor in the Group” My wife offer to go in the Room and supervise the Teens, but then they wanted another $28, so it was a $/greed thing also. Well after several emails and Calls, they refunded my money as the Kids were not allowed in the Escape Room and then my original review mysteriously disappeared?
As much as the Owners may feel I hate them, that is Not the case at all, in fact I really want them to Succeed as we need more "Entertainment" in Cape Coral! I just want the owners to be user Friendly to Families and Teenagers in our community and to Play by the rules i.e. not convince Online Review Forums to delete a review just because it is not as positive as they would like it to be. Lastly do not be Greedy, as I have seen a few negative Reviews posted lately regarding not wanting to take walk-ins or specifically 2 people as they would prefer $28x4 people or $28x6 people ...so they decline the 2 person group in hopes of bigger group more money. My advice is take the 2 person 2 Hand is better than 4 in the Bush.
If you want to go, read Website Fine Print before you book a room and if you have questions, CALL FIRST prior to putting your credit card down. If you have Teenagers that want to go to Escape the Cape, make sure they are ok with Mom or Dad in the Room or they must be at least 15 and have a parent sign the Waiver, my suggestion they...
Read moreI'd like to start by saying that my review does not reflect the quality of their rooms, rather the quality of their service as I did not end up playing one of their games.
We reserved a game online and didn't have any trouble with that process. We then drove 45 minutes. When we showed up to the place we were told that a party before us had showed up 30 minutes late and they were still playing so we would need to wait 30 minutes or reschedule for another time. I have done about 15 escape rooms and the policy of every other escape room organization I've been to is that if you're late you lose whatever time you are late by rather than causing every other booking to fall behind. Regardless of their late policy, they had our number at booking and did not think to call us and let us know what was going on.
We did end up deciding to wait the 30 minutes. They told us they would call us when they had sanitized everything as we went to wait in our car. 35 minutes later we went to check on things and they told us that it would be an additional 20 minutes as the team ahead of us needed more help. At this point we decided to leave as we would've had to wait about an hour past our scheduled time. The person working at the desk did offer to give us a half price discount if we rescheduled and that is why I gave them 2 stars as he did at least attempt to make the...
