Huddle House — Restaurant in Cape Girardeau

So I quit today and I'll tell you start to finish why. I had already known my 1st day it wasn't gonna be too long before I quit. that's already sad enough. Anyways my first few days I already saw so many health code violations. I saw one waitress drop chicken tenders baskets on the floor and put them right on top of the clean ones. one of the COOKS had to tell her that's not okay. I've seen staff just wipe food off plates , cups silverware bc they didn't wanna run them through the wash again . Food in every "washed " cup i've saw a waitresses steal money from another coworker ( a cook ) I'm sure this money was for some food he was going to buy bc he always bought food , anyways after she took it I guess she realized he actually was tripping About it , she slipped it under this little white basket by the front desk and went up to him and said he placed it there by mistake , like no girl i seen you steal and put it back . Fast forward when I had to do my drop outs which are extremely high , so I owned around 75 dollars today I was missing 20 of , i don't know how or where that 20 went or how they even come up with these extreme amounts for my drops , if they think i stole that 20 or something there's cameras so they can go f their selfs🤣, anyways prior to this i had a friend come in , chatted. afterwards gave me 50 dollars to me for a phone payment ( I told ABBY or APRIL is her name thats what it was for , clearly she has no empathy and still demanded id use that 50 to pay the rest of my EXTREMELY high payout ) . after that i told her Ill go out to moms car that's been waiting for me for the past 30 mins to go ask for a 20 bc that's all she needs out of MY 50 dollars and she DEMANDED id give my 50. the male manger is fine. he literally said I could just get it took out of my check or my next tips from another day and the second he walk away she demanded my 50 , gave me the worst attitude, dirtiest look everrrrrrrr , i rlly hope that camera in that office works , anyways fast forward to the morning , when APRIL ( I'm assuming shes the Pre manger , had a terrible vibe. I said goodmorning got ignored , said it again to make it's cuz she couldn't hear me , got ignored again. So I said maybe she's in a bad mood .No that wasn't the case she clearly had a problem with me GOD KNOWS WHAT FOR , maybe bc im young and pretty and she looks old if we're being blunt , a jealousy thing. She kept giving me dirty looks the whole day ,not moving when I needed to come by her, giving me attitude and when I needed help with little things , mind you this was my 6TH day IM STILL LEARNING and ur getting upset for something I need help with that takes TWO SECONDS? (She never gotten this way at all with me till this day) She even said herself on my third day Ive done an amazing job so..she was just acting this way towards me to be a dick for who knows what. also this place has mice , rats and bugs, they put mouse traps under the stoves whenever they get rlly bad , I've had them underneath the fridge run at me . Also one of the waitress told April about my 50 that's the only reason APRIL knew so thank you girl. Thought we was cool..I'll say all the ppl in back who do the prepping ,stocking and cooks do an amazing job , not weird , not shady , don't gossip , do their job and do it well . And NEVER give attitude are extremely nice and understanding and should get paid more . Before I worked here I actually was kinda okay with eating here if its the only place available during that time. on my first day I KNEW I WOULD NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN I even warned my family and will continue to warn anybody I can that's how terrible this place is , it's not even just the dirtiness here that makes me not want to ever come again (which is still diabolical) its the simply not wanting to support this establishment bc they way I got treated and they way they treat the environment there , just bc it looks clean from looking at it just knows it's not! I've eaten at this Huddle House maybe 5 times in the last 6 years. The food and service had always been a 3 outta 5 stars, not worth a good or bad review either way until today. When we entered the restaurant there were 5 booths full and 2 at the counter. 2 waits and 2 cooks as well. When our server arrived she was pleasant and took our drink order, returning in a timely fashion. After some lengthy deliberation my 16 year old daughter decided on the MVP and early on I would have the limited time battered cod sandwich with fries. I ordered a bacon cheese tots as an app too, which the server put in while my daughter was laboring over the menu (somehow she had never been to a Huddle House in her life!). Here's where it all goes from a 3 star usual to a less than one star which isn't an option. The tots were hot, this was their only attribute. The cheese sauce was a flavorless blob in the middle sprinkled with bacon and a dollop of sour cream on the edge, not closely resembling the photo in the menu. No prob. We continue on. The entrees arrive... My sandwich, 2 meager fish sticks with lettuce on a bun with finger holes in the top bun. Like 7 rips in the bun from fingers... This I roll with, because hey l've worked food service and sometimes things aren't perfect. The sandwich mangled as it was tasted fine. We're still in the 3 star range, closer to 2 though. My daughter begins to eat her biscuit and gravy, it won't cut with a fork. They are cold, not not hot, COLD! I take them back to the counter and ask for new, the waitress takes them and orders new. I'm still working on 2 stars now, until that is I reach the center of my pile-o-fries. There's a short curly black hair on one. No one working in the restaurant has short curly black hair... After presenting the waitress with the offending fry I ask for a refund of the fry amount only counter offer to her would you like more fries... I'm sorry you had one job! You don't get a second chance at serving me dirty food. Never again Huddle House....

Went for breakfast walked in along with about 7 other random people. I sat at the first table I saw 22 minutes passed before anyone said anything to me. The other 7 people were served and most of them had already left. I wasn't sure which waitress was supposed to be serving my table but all of them knew I was ready which means I was being actively ignored. When she finally comes to my table and asked if I wanted coffee I asked for Dr.pepper no ice she comes back saying that she forgot they were out so I ordered Pepsi and stuffed hashbrowns she asked if I wanted white or wheat I told her white She said ok. (I never order wheat.) Another 15 minutes passed  I could see and hear the kitchen from where I sitting they were not sure how to make my order the only person who knew was the guy working the egg station 4 people trying to make 1 dish was kinda funny. So my order comes to the table with wheat bread 4 half slices no doubt. It's like she doesn't even give a sh!t. On to the food it was descent I think it is hard to go wrong with that dish I will give it 4/5. I paid the bill got the rest of the money back I left her a dime under the cup. I wanted her to know I would have tipped her had the service been any where near what it should have been. I usually leave over 15% but not for that service. So much time wasted almost an hour. Service half a star out...
