I had a local flavor certificate to use. $30 worth of casual dining. It was about to expire so i thought i would stop in the restaurant to use it on the last day. To my surprise they had a facebook status saying "sorry we are inconveniently closed" which meant i was not able to use my certificate. i decided to call the next day to see if i was able to use it since they closed and they said only for what i paid for it. which is $15. I decided to try it out anyways, I placed a to go order, and when i stopped in an older woman said "oh you forgot to use your coupon" and I explained to her that it would have been used but the restaurant was closed yesterday and she said i should have mentioned it over the phone and they would have done something, and i told her i did mention it and before i was able to tell her what the woman over the phone said she quick left to answer the phone. I paid for my meal and went home. When I opened the bag to my surprise, the food didnt look like a chef made it. I ordered mozzarella squares which were completely flat and overcooked. $9 for 4 little squares of nothing was ridiculous. Then i decided to try the chicken francaise and that was just as bad. $29 for it, the breading was some type of soggy egg batter and the noodles were undercooked and very salty. It also came with a side Caesar salad which tasted like the lettuce was not rinsed. I usually don't leave reviews unless a place is phenomenal or terrible. hopefully this gets back to the owner so they know, because this will be the first and last time i ever eat...
Read more-- A Masterclass in Culinary Chaos -- We’ve celebrated special occasions at Rosaliano’s in Carbondale before, so when out-of-town family visited, we trusted it to deliver. What we got instead was a surrealist dinner theater, minus the dinner.
The evening began with a wobbly table, a crowded dining room, and a menu printed on loose-leaf paper like a high school group project. Promising start.
Drinks arrived generously poured, which helped dull the pain of the next two hours:
One appetizer was canceled due to missing its main ingredient. Another arrived with no plates. By the time we flagged someone down, the fried cheese had fossilized. Shrimp cocktail? Spongy. Two ribeyes? “Out.” Salads? Wrong. Surf and turf? Arrived eventually, but the steaks were so rare they could’ve been revived with CPR. My entrée? Reduced to a single crab cake.
We tried to leave. The kitchen begged us to stay. We did. We regretted it.
In the end, we left hungry, humiliated, and holding a bill for the privilege. We even tried to leave a generous tip for our waitress, who was clearly not the problem, but the restaurant absorbed it into the bill. That was the final insult. The management made it clear: they were out of food, out of time, and out of touch.
Rosaliano’s used to be a gem. Now it’s just a punchline. We...
Read moreThe atmosphere was not good. If you sit inside you cant hear other people in your party talking because its so packed and small and others were so extremely loud. We sat outside whoch was a bit better but we were getting bitten by bugs. Food was pretty good but be prepared to wait at least 2 hours. We got there at 730 for our reservation and didn't get our food untill about 930-40. I felt bad for the waitress she just kept apologizing over and over to the point it was awkward. They said this wait time is normal. Honestly we were so frustrated by the wait the food was hardly worth it and I was so tired I almost wasn't even that hungry once we finally got the food. The reason Im giving a 3 for service wasnt because of the waitress she was fine its because this place needs to either higher more chefs or take less...
