Booby's Bar and Sandwich — Restaurant in Carbondale

Booby's is a reawakening of a Carbondale classic. A sandwich shop and bar, with frequent live music and events. I was not around for it's original iteration, but it's current version is awesome.

The sandwiches themselves are amazing. They brought back the original menu, as well as added some new choices. My favorite choices tend to be their seasonal options, which rotate out on a regular basis. I fondly await the return of the G.O.A.T. They use fresh ingredients, and everything I've eaten has been delicious.

The bar is stocked with several drafts, including Stag at all times, and all of your essentials, and prices are quite reasonable. I'm a big fan of the jello shots they carry, and they have quite a few shot options for the adventurous. The bartenders have always taken great care of us.

They have a very lovely outdoor biergarten, as well as indoor seating both at the bar and in booths. There are arcade machines to play inside. They also host lots of events, including regular concerts with live bands, and karaoke.

I cannot recommend Booby's enough, whether you want an easy lunch or a fun night of music and drinks. Speaking to my experience, I have always felt welcome here. Booby's is a supportive part of this community and...

Came here with a friend, and we didn't know what to do, so we sat down and waited. As we watched patrons coming in and standing in line. We realized we had to get in line to place an order. When we got to the counter, we asked for a menu, and the staff pointed over at the menus on the counter, and when we stepped over to read them, they began helping other patrons. We made our selections and waited for the cashier to finish speaking so we could place our order. The person in line replied, "There's a line here." Staff did nothing. We didn't want to cause a scene, so we went to the back of the line. We waited over 20 minutes to get our order in. Luckily, I have a good friend who paid for everything, then waited another 10 minutes to get served. We sat down with our food and realized we didn't order drinks. No staff came to our table. We didn't want to wait in line, and there was no room at the bar. For the price, we could've gone to Subway and got twice the sandwich with less grease. The sandwich was okay, but it wasn't...

This place is a gem to say the least! The owner and service staff put so much work into making your visit a great time and they care a great deal to make it a communal establishment. Boobys was a pillar of the music and bar scene when I was living in Carbondale so when it was purchased and re-opened under the same name, they had big shoes to fill. Every step of the way they have included their patrons in many of the decisons to ensure that those that grew up loving this place don't feel like it has departed much at all from the original.

They host great shows both indoors and outdoors in their excellent beer garden, the drink prices are very reasonable and while I haven't tried the food, I know it'll be top notch also. They have put a lot of hard work into the restoration also, place...
