Stopped here as part of the Cumberland Valley Ice Cream Trail. Just got the soft serve, but was impressed that they had different flavors other than just chop and vanilla! I got mint chocolate and vanilla. The price was def fair. The place was pretty busy so that’s definitely a good sign of a loved ice cream spot. They had various sundaes on the menu, like blueberry! There was plenty of seating outside, plenty of parking too.You walk inside the lobby and order at the window/counter so no where inside to eat. Plenty of staff to take your order and make it too. Next time I’ll try the sundaes!

Massey's has been a Carlisle favorite for years! In the summertime the line can extend out the door, the parking lot is frequently full of classic cars from shows, and really happy children running around in the back by the picnic tables. Massey's serves a varieties of ice cream favorites such as hand dipped custards, shakes and malts, soft serve, pretzel and sugar cones, artic blasts, a variety of sundaes and about any other frozen treat you can think of. They're now open year round, hours are shorter in the fall/winter but you'll enjoy any time.

Truly one one of the old fashioned ice cream stores left, with all the charm you'd expect from an older building. The menu was so varied it was difficult to choose. We went on a Friday night, where Dickinson College students were swarming, but the service was still fairly quick, and totally friendly.. The custard was delicious, and the prices weren't bad.

Giving two stars only because this place is a Carlisle staple—otherwise, it would’ve been a one-star experience.

I made a special trip to bring my husband and daughter here, excited to revisit what was once known for its rich custard, flavor swirls, and fun dip options. Unfortunately, what we received was plain soft-serve vanilla ice cream with no swirl choices in sight.

Service left much to be desired. My husband asked for a dipped cone, but the teenage employee handed him a broken cone plopped into a dish and asked if that was okay—clearly a fallback rather than taking the time to redo it properly. My daughter requested one of the sprinkle-rimmed cones displayed, but instead got a plain cone with sprinkles on top. Not the end of the world, but still disappointing.

The biggest letdown is the false advertising. They continue to promote the same “original custard” experience, but this simply isn’t it anymore. What they’re serving now doesn’t live up to the name or...

This has been our favorite since we moved to Carlisle. The last two visits have been quite disappointing. Yesterday, they were out of about 8 hand dipped ice cream flavors, the twist machine didn't work, the soft chocolate was not custard, and the staff seemed ill prepared and poorly trained. At an earlier visit, again, they were out of multiple flavors, the twist machine didn't work, and the oat milk ice cream was barely edible (along with a very tentative staff). I suggest the owner or manager get on-site to address these issues - we get the sense that this business is going downhill quickly. There are other ice cream...

I returned to Carlisle to visit my Mom, we were driving by and I noticed it was open all year now. I don't think it was open all year when I moved to Texas in 2009. Anyway, I ordered a hand dipped chocolate frozen custard with peanut butter syrup. CHANGED MY LIFE!!! I'm back home in Texas now and I've challenged all my local family and friends to name a frozen custard spot here that they think is good. I told them I would tell them if it compared or not but, if it doesn't (I can't possibly imagine another heaven on earth) I would bring them back with me next April so I can change their life...
