Pannikin Fly-by - Pannikin Coffee & Tea — Restaurant in Carlsbad

This place was a wonderful surprise. The coffee was excellent and the staff was even better. It's so great that there is a new coffee shop in this area of town. It feels like an unusual place to have a coffee shop, but it's definitely worth stopping by. They have excellent espresso and drip coffee. Lots of snacks house made baked goods to choose from. Pannikin has several spots around the San Diego area, this is another great addition.

There is lots of parking around here. Plenty of wheelchair accessible spots, lots of street parking as well. After coffee there are also restaurants and breweries worth visiting as well. Really feels like an up an coming area to hang out even though this is an industrial complex. Just a great addition to the small business that abound around this complex.

I always make it a point to try local coffee shops when I’m on the road, and this one was a real find. It’s tucked back a bit — you’ll have to wind through a parking lot to get there — but it’s absolutely worth it. Don’t get distracted by the big bakery next door. Stay loyal to this little spot.

The drip coffee was smooth, robust, and surprisingly delicious. They also have their own small bakery in the back, and you can tell they take pride in what they’re putting out — everything looked fresh and tempting.

Service was another highlight. The young lady behind the counter was polite, engaging, and genuinely curious in the best way — she struck the perfect balance of friendly without being overbearing. My order came out quickly and exactly right, which is always appreciated.

A spot like this makes you glad you skipped the chain drive-thru. Definitely a coffee stop worth...

I usually love Pannikin, especially their coffee cake (seriously one of the best around 🍰). But my recent visit to the Carlsbad location was really disappointing. I came in around 12:30, and there was a sign saying the worker was in the bathroom. An hour later, I came back, waited about 10 minutes, and then the employee finally walked out—watching YouTube Shorts on their phone! 🤯 Not the kind of service you’d expect.

I also stopped by the Cardiff Pannikin recently, and the experience there was much better—great service and the same delicious treats. I’ll probably stick with...
