Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Carmi

The Motel Coffee Shop in Carmi has been there for a long time. The motel behind the coffee shop doesn't really do much business, if any, it's about rundown. They've been there for a long time. The coffee shop itself is pretty much a greasy spoon, but a good one. My friend and I went for breakfast, we both had eggs, bacon, and potatoes. My eggs were cooked to perfection. Bacon was crispy, the coffee was good as well. Service was quick and friendly, they're just a down-home coffee shop, good people. We had a good conversation, good Fellowship, good time. On our way to Garden of the Gods from Indiana, we stopped by Carmi for food. I initially thought this place was just a run of the mill coffee shop, but I was surprised to find that this was a full blown restaurant. Not only was it a full blown restaurant, it was a dang good one too. The waitress was an absolute sweetheart. Prices were great too. Only costed me $30 plus tip to feed a group of three. This little gem in the small town of Carmi, IL was outstanding. The food was excellent with good portions, the prices were reasonable, our waitress couldn't have done a better job, and the service was quick. My husband even joked that our food was served so quickly that you would have thought we called our order in.
