If you're looking for culinary excellence in Carnegie, look no further than DeBlaze at 131. This stylish restaurant and bar offers a handcrafted menu featuring fresh ingredients and innovative dishes that elevate the dining experience. They serve brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM, and dinner nightly. I recently went for a girls’ dinner, and we were blown away by the quality and flavor of everything we tried. We kicked things off with cocktails from their seasonal cocktail menu, which is creative and well-curated. They also offer beers on draft and a lovely wine selection. We were served fresh bread with an amazing herb dipping oil to start—such a nice touch! For appetizers, we ordered the bruschetta and risotto balls. The bruschetta was unique and refreshing, topped with lemon ricotta, fresh strawberries, aged balsamic, parmesan, and basil. The risotto balls were rich and comforting, topped with their homemade Sunday sauce and fresh asiago. The house spring greens salad was a highlight—mixed greens, strawberries, pecans, goat cheese, and a smoked honey vinaigrette that absolutely made the dish. For entrées, we each ordered something different and, of course, shared everything! Their "Italian done the DeBlaze way" menu lets you choose your protein (like chicken or veal), preparation style, and noodle type. We tried the Chicken Romano with bucatini and the Veal Marsala with bucatini—both were outstanding. You can really taste the fresh, homemade noodles, which makes all the difference. We also got the crab cakes, served with vegetables and sun-dried tomato risotto—another standout! To top it all off, their desserts are homemade, which is such a thoughtful and elegant touch. Everything from start to finish was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. DeBlaze at 131 is truly a gem. Whether you’re going out for brunch, lunch, or a special dinner, this spot delivers on every level. I will...
Read moreWe had a date night last evening at DeBlaze at 131 and had a wonderful time. I made a reservation through OpenTable, which is always helpful and convenient. The restaurant was busy, but we didn’t wait long for our table. The restaurant is very fresh and clean and the bar area is really cool. We sat at a table right off the bar. The menu is quite extensive and has a lot of interesting choices. We ordered veal stuffed peppers for an appetizer and it was delicious. I have to say being Italian I’m a little picky, but I love their sauce. Their cocktail menu is fantastic with lots of seasonal offerings. I tried the raspberry cranberry spritz, which is good and an interesting spin on my go to Aperol Spritz. My husband ordered the veal piccata, and he said it was fantastic. I ordered the special which was the duck Ragu, it was very good, but it needed a little more something whether that be garlic or salt, but it would not dissuade me from getting it again. Oh and the house salad is fantastic, I would highly recommend it. The flavor is unbelievable with the smoked dressing that they use. We both had wonderful desserts which included a raspberry swirl cheesecake and I had Tiramisu which was delicious. I am a tough critic when it comes to Italian food and I thought this restaurant did a great job! The owner came to the table and asked how everything was which is always a bonus. I saw the reviews where people commented about cost. We would consider a medium priced restaurant, but definitely not outrageous. I think it’s very difficult to run a successful restaurant at a low price point these days. We would definitely go back and would recommend this restaurant. The location is great and there is ample parking, which is always difficult for most restaurants. The bar area is very cool and wouldn’t mind just going and sitting and having some drinks and appetizers at the bar. I usually take more pictures, sorry. I will take more on...
Read moreIt seems like one of us should have gotten steak, since it's a steakhouse. But I don't eat steak that often and they had so many other options on the menu and we both ended up getting pasta. Maybe on another trip, we'll try the steak.
The happy hour specials were good and so was the service. The pasta was freshly made and they even let my dad get half and half ravioli (half meat and half cheese) - when he asked which the waitress thought was better, since he couldn't decide, she mentioned that he could always get half and half. What a great idea - I've never heard of a restaurant suggesting that before with a ravioli dish.
I would definitely go back. The menu has a lot that looked good and both of our meals were delicious. This restaurant may actually last in their location. Here's hoping... we like it and I look forward to returning and trying more menu selections.
DeBlaze at 131 review: We only went to this location for brunch and it was delicious! The shoestring fries were super crispy and everyone liked their meals. One warning tho. For some reason they put onions on a BLT without mentioning them on the menu. Since it was the Eggs Benedict one, it was annoying to pick them out with hollandaise sauce covering them.
The service was great. We were only in the bar area and it was pretty empty, but I...
