Be prepared cause we're about to go deep! Firstly, let's be clear, this isn't a 5-star Shaw's Crab House restaurant even though I'm giving them 5 stars. This is a cozy, neighborhood place where they do a lot, if not everything right. If you're from the neighborhood, you already know this is a home away from home. They're involved in community events, they're welcoming and willing to accommodate their patrons.
On one side you have a chill bar. And no, the bar isn't made of bocote or purple heart wood you pretentious boozy, if you want that, go to some Chicago snobbery. This bar is made of good times and long-winded stories ending in an occasional spilt beer. While it may be unremarkable, it's comfortable and inviting.
What's that you say? You don't want to belly up and engage your fellow patrons? You're an introvert or you just wanna be left alone with jack and eat a delicious al pastor taco? Fair enough, there's plenty of seating throughout the establishment which includes, (drum roll) a more formal dining room! That's right, this space is multi-use, including the perfect space for a Saturday morning breakfast or a casual dining experience. And you do want to eat here. Why? I'm glad you asked.
While I'm just a patron and have no knowledge of their employment requirements, I'm fairly certain their chef's are classically trained and recruited from 3-star Michelin restaurants. If you don't know what that is, trust me, it's some fancy accolades. You wanna patty melt, boom! What kinda cheese?BAM! Don't like fries? ZAP!! And the tots appear! This isn't all rainbows and puppies, don't eat the burgers, I think they suck. Everything else is a winner.
Let me try to wrap this up:
If you're bougie looking for a poof hangout, keep looking. But if you're looking a real place with chill comfortable vibes, check this place out. In the words of the late Toby Keith, "I love this bar".
Atmosphere? A+ Food? A+ Cost? B+ (I think everything is overpriced, but Chrissy's is still reasonable) Service? A+
By the way, did I mention they can be a venue for your next event? True story Bro. I've had events there, and been to events there. They kill it. Talk to Sarah, she can make your venues...
Read moreDEFINITELY our new favorite place. Just happened to come in on the way home from a friends for a couple of waters and some popcorn (hoping the kitchen was open - it wasn't lolol) and ended up staying until it shut down! OUTSTANDING service, bartender was a kind soul who was always ready with a smile and conversation - her and my wife seemed to hit it off life they were old friends. A little too well lit for my tastes - I assume they want to keep the riff raff out of the place so that I can understand but still - it's almost like walking into a hospital ER surgery room.
Drinks were reasonably priced, saw a lot of interesting cocktails I'd loved to have tried if I wasn't sober. The wife will be updating on those I'm certain of it.
Excited to get back here with some food reviews - but gosh what a helluva great place! Family friendly too! A great outside seating arrangement in the parking lot and it seems like a new...
Read moreWhat an absolutely dumpster fire of a business. The owner and management were displaying absolutely disgusting behavior in front of minors as well. The food was basic you can get better quality at any other tavern pizza place. It also took over an hour for them to serve the catering that was preordered. They up charged ridiculously not only from the original quoted prices but also from their own menu prices. The owner doesn't know how to respectfully conduct business like an adult, she was getting loud, ignorant, and confrontational towards paying guests who's calmly and simply asking for an explanation on why the bill was upcharged and the owner even went as far as clapping her hands in a gentleman's face disrespectfully. What a gross display of unprofessionalism. The only positive at this place was the two young servers their energy was the only positive in this...
