My mom and I went to Tonita Kitchen May 5th and ordered 3 of what we thought were going to be their delicious chicken chimichangas. Instead we were given 3 chicken chimichangas that were not only flavorless but had many small bones and tendons/cartilage from the chicken throughout the chimichanga( that's if you can even call it that as it seems all they did was wrap the chicken in a large tortilla without even searing it. I called Tonita Kitchen hoping to be heard and was told by the lady that I need to bring all 3 of them back so she could have proof to show the seller of the meat. ( I'm not sure how this would be the meat sellers fault). When I got back, instead of giving me my full refund like she said she would on the phone, she put her hand in the wrap and tore apart the mushy filled chimichanga and repeatedly told me that there were no bones or tendons in the meat that she could feel. The man who I'm assuming is the owner of the truck pretty much instructed her to do this and to deny me my full refund. They only refunded me for one and continued to tell me that they are the same business that's been here for 8 months and that when they cook the meat they don't know if there's bones or not. Basically she continued to displace blame for the poor preparation of the meat on the person who sold it to them, pre cooked, I might add and tell me that I was wrong and was lying about the bones and tendons being in the meat. The meat also did not seem fresh. She wouldn't even try the two herself that were untouched. I'm extremely disappointed and now out 27 dollars over food I never even took home. I felt extremely disrespected and I won't be going back. It's sad that people just can't make things right when they know they're wrong. Is this how you run a business? Not that I expect an...
Read moreWe tried the torta de asada, tacos de asada and al pastor, plus the Mexa-dog (a bacon-wrapped hot dog with corn, cheese, and chile). Everything was seasoned perfectly, not overly salty, and each dish was truly delicious. I can be picky when it comes to food trucks in general, but this one impressed me so much that I am already looking forward to coming back. Service was outstanding, fast, friendly, and welcoming. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a tasty and cheap meal. The only thing I would tweak is adding avocado to the torta, since that is usually expected, but the grilled jalapeño inside made up for it....
