I have been to several KFC Restaurants over the years. It seems as though there are more and more of these going to the buffet style. I like this style more because if you are like me and you prefer the breast portion ( all white) then dining at KFC can be very expensive. For me the KFC buffet is the only way to eat here. This particular KFC has a nice size dining room, which was clean and maintained well by an employee who was attentive to her duties the whole time we were there. The chicken was hot and seemed fresh. The potatoes delicious. Green beans and come slaw all good. The reason for only 3 stars is that they would not put enough food out. I asked very nicely, several times, to please refill the chicken to no avail. Keep in mind it's lunch time at a restaurant that is off I-71 at about the half way mark between Louisville and Cincinnati, so for anyone who has drove this stretch of hwy, which I do alot, my parents and most of my family live on the Ky. side of the Ohio/Kentucky border, then you will know that on this stretch not many choices for food, gas, or anything really It's really bare. Then finally it's the Carrolton exit. Its time for KFC! We have been here, at this specific locale several times. Its got a pretty good crowd ( like always) It smells good, looks good and we are all hungry. We do notice however, not alot of chicken out (again) .We ask them "can we get a some chicken out here please?" The respond by putting 2 pieces out. Now we have 4 adults in our party witu another 20+ in dining room and 5 18 to 20 yr old boys who look like they could eat any mom and dad out of house and hone. LOL. Next trip same thing. I am being as sickening polite as the person I am dealing with could be my teenage daughter and her nametag suggests that shes the manager. So I hsve to go get my dad the chicken legs that he lives because he does not want to seem rude or mean. ( SIDE NOTE: he doesn't have a mean bone in his body especially to young people he sees out trying to better themselves by working ) he's old-fashioned and wonderful!!!! So I have to keep asking all the while never being rude or impatient. Not all were so laid back. One customer was just beside themselves. While the food was very good and tasty, and I want to stress the quality was perfect. The service friendly. The store was clean as well as the restrooms. I have to give 3 stars simply due to the quantity of food. I mean it's a buffet. Nobody was going all you can eat wild or anything, but when I have to keep asking for them to put out more chicken. You have 20+ people And 2 pieces of chicken and then you ask and they put 2 pieces out. I REALLY was polite and smiling and explaining my dad likes chicken legs, can I please have some legs. My boyfriend likes thighs so he's also asking. The employees are nice and it makes me think maybe it's a standards type thing thru corporate or a management thing. I dont know and it truly baffles me. I mean why wouldn't you just fill up the bin? Wouldn't it be so much easier thsn dealing with unhappy customers? Again its a buffett. Of course, they had other customers asking also. It was odd really because they were so nice and polite, but just wouldn't put the food out. This has happened almost every time we have visited this particular KFC. We actually talked to the 4some next to us, who actually commented about the way the girl put out one piece when they asked for more and get this she was holding a whole pan full of the stuff, but only put on one piece with her powerful tongs. ( Sorry can't resist the sarcasm of it all) Is there some guidelines somewhere in the colonels laws about how much chicken goes out during certain hours? Let me end by saying The food is GOOD, when you can get it. The staff always courteous, even there refusal to put out more chicken was done politely somehow. I dont know maybe it's some kind of twilight zone...
Read moreBuffet was empty. The chicken that was there looked like it had been there for a while. The slaw was empty. The white gravy was nearly empty. The cobbler was empty.
The noodles were were empty. My wife watched the employee pour the fresh noodles into the old buffet tub. The old noodles were looking pretty rough at this point.
Then to ask the employee behind the counter for more of these items...she seemed as if she didn't care. She definitely didn't care how long it took before she finally got around to actually bringing the new food item out to the buffet.
The last thing was the cobbler. It had been empty for nearly 45 minutes. We asked how much longer before the new was done and she said 5-6 minutes. It was close to 15 minutes and still no cobbler, so my wife had to ask again before it finally was brought to the bar.
The sad thing is the restaurant wasn't slammed, but there were probably between 20-25 people in there, and MOST of them were also complaining about the lack of food available and the lackluster attitude from the crew.
I wish we would have went to one of the other fast food joints...
Read moreI was passing through with family and decided to treat them to KFC in Carrollton, Ky. I used to go regularly when I lived in Kentucky. It was a shocking disappointment. Absolutely filthy from top to bottom. The walls, the tables and seats, the baby highchairs, the windows, all filthy. KFC needs to take this restaurant back and fire the owner, General Manager, and all Shift Supervisors. It needs closed for a month for a deep cleaning done by a professional cleaning contractor. There was no buffet - the pictures are decieving. Half of our food got pitched in the garbage and the trash receptacles in the restaurant were filthy. I felt bad for the employees because there was no managerial leadership leading the way by example or enthusiasm. It was plainly obvious that the accumulation of black film dirt didn't happen overnight. It was an utter disgrace, the County Health Dept must be asleep at the controls, that place is a candidate to be shutdown immediately. KFC needs to get General Manager in there who knows how to motivate people. Until then, don't go, that place is...
