Wanted BBQ on a Sunday, but didn’t want to dine-in anywhere, so I found this location with a drive thru via google maps. I’m not fond of the food ($13 poboy plate = BBQ/brisket poboy, BBQ beans, and macaroni and cheese). However, I did enjoy the bread used for the poboy. Sausage was dry and and awkward texture, seemingly a lot of filler. Brisket dry, flavorless, but edible. Beans and macaroni also edible, but nothing to rave about. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. Perhaps it’s this location. I may give the Farmers Branch location a try.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon just before 5. The dining area was charming but empty, probably due to the time of day. We ordered dinner plates of brisket and sausage with various sides; fried okra, butter beans, baked beans, pinto beans, Cole slaw, and Mac ‘n Cheese. The brisket was exceptionally moist and flavorful. The restaurant staff were a delight. We commented on the fried pies near the register and were told the pies were free that day. So we took three! Great old-fashioned Texas BBQ restaurant where the portions are HUGE!

This place serves up some really good barbecue! They have a friendly welcoming atmosphere! Very quality food! The sliced brisket, hot links and ham are really great! Butter beans with diced ham are awesome! Cole slaw is good. House barbecue sauce is tasty and complements the meat. They have a bunch of side choices. This place is worth checking out, drive through dine in or carry out. Complimentary 🍌 peppers, chopped onions, pickled jalapenos, pickles, mustard, sweet relish, Mayo, peppermints etc...

Marshall's food is 5 stars but customer service was 1, so I am giving a 3 star rating.

I love Marshall's and we use them for events we have at my work every year. This year we were short on $ so I asked if they would be willing to donate a baked potato bar for our teachers (figured it was a cheaper option than all the meats). They said they could not donate everything, but could most likely donate the potatoes. I called back multiple times to confirm and no one ever got back to me. I finally got to talk to someone and they said, "Sorry, we can't actually donate anything" and then hung up on me.

I am upset that now we are less than a month out from our event and I have to start all over planning food. Marshall's certainly did not "owe us" a donation but they seemed willing and then reneged on it without even letting me know. It took weeks of calling before I got back to the person I had originally spoken to and found out. It was also very unprofessional for the employee to say that and hang up abruptly. I didn't even get to finish saying "Ok, thank you for trying" before the...

Long story short: Wonderful.

The "long" version:

I had been thinking BBQ for weeks. Last night I was well into making some honking super salad for the wife and I. I blurted out, "You want to go get BBQ"? We hopped in the car and in a minute we were there.

Upon arrival we soaked up the wonder aroma while scanning the over counter menu. We selected the sliced brisket sandwiches, gathered some sides along the way the cash register, paid and were seated. At that point I realized there was "live" music happening! I took my plate to the other side of the table so I could watch.

The rest is really not possible to describe. When I'd yell out "Hotel California", he played it. When I yelled out "Stairway To Heaven", he played it... LIKE A CHAMP!

There was only one other occupied table in the room we were in. We both clapped for an hour.

Possibly one of the best "out-to-eat"...

Good BBQ Good Prices. If I could give them a 4.5 I would. I love that they are a neighborhood joint, I love their prices, and I love popping in to grab stuff to take home. The team there is generally pretty nice and I think their BBQ is good, however I've never felt like this place has the top notch, five-star stuff - especially when I start thinking sides and what-not.

I read some other reviews that state my feelings on this place pretty well when they say that a number of aspects are good, but there are aspects that a bit more like cafeteria-like food (the green beans come first to mind for me as well as some of their other sides). I'd never not enjoy someone saying, "want to stop at Marshall's?" However at the same time I feel like I just can't give them 5 stars in overall game. Overall I feel like a 4.5 would be most appropriate, but since we can't go there, I'll do...
