Haven't been to a Sonic in a while, but decided to stop by the Friday before Thanksgiving because we really wanted some ice cream and Andy's and Dairy Queen both closed early due to the holiday. The drive-in wasn't crowded so when we hit the button a young man took our order right away - one (1) small Snickers blast and one (1) large Reese's/Butterfinger blast. Like I mentioned, the lot wasn't at all crowded so I was surprised when, after five (5) mins, we still had not received our order. Having worked at Sonic in a past life I know that orders without food take priority and should be delivered within two (2) mins. Finally, after almost 10 mins we hit the button again and was told our order was delayed because there was an issue with the ice cream machine. Would have been nice for them to let us know there was going to be a delay prior to our having to ask - definitely not the best experience. I gave them 3-stars because they gave us two (2) coupons for a free Route 44 drink for our troubles and when we did get the blasts they were very tasty. They just need to work on their customer...
Read moreI just want to say thank you to all the staff at this Sonic location. When we could no longer comfortably enjoy our regular trips to the nearby gas station for fountain drinks and iced tea (the self-service areas were shut down and also just kind of risky because of COVID), Sonic became our new favorite drink stop and the people who have worked through 2020 despite the challenges deserve our gratitude. And a raise! (I tried guys...) They're always fast, polite, accommodating, and friendly. We pretty much only go for drinks, so I can't really speak to other menu items (although those pretzel sticks are pretty much the best thing I've ever eaten). Read moreAs a new user of the food apps regarding primarily preordering and picking up I am realizing there are degrees of professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency to which this new age way of doing business offers. That being said, this sonic (the only location I have used) is the gold standard for ease of use, and a system of delivery that works perfect for their infrastructure, and staff that was ready to integrate this pick up style of food service wonderfully. Places not setup like sonic should consider the idea that if you want clients to proceed with order so it is ready before they get there to pick it up, how net negative of an experience it is to have any delays on the restaurants part when they get there.
