To put it into perspective, I live approx. 300ft from the business and decided to go and try it out now that is it opened. I got in my car and off I went.
As I was ordering I was informed that some of the options were not in stock despite the business having just opened. You would think they keep a good inventory to make decent enough first impression. The entire time I was ordering the employee taking my order kept forgetting what I had said and I had to keep repeating myself.
I now move on to pay for the food and get it. I go to the window and the first thing I notice is that there has to be approximately 12 employees in a small cramped kitchen and over half of them were either pretending to work or just not working at all.
I then was given 2 medium drinks, I ordered 1 large and 1 medium. I asked what drinks were in the cups so I can keep the one and give back the incorrect one. Now I learn that the employee working the window does NOT speak any English. After a few minutes of a back and forth with the employee he finally got the message and got me the correct drinks.
During that whole drink mishap he had my card in hand and handed it back without running the payment. I had assumed that the payment was ran when I handed him the card but it wasn't. He asked for the card back and then began another confusing conversation which resulted in my giving him the card once more and then I watched as he swiped the card over and over and over. I look beyond him and see other employees doing the same. Swiping cards over and over and over. At a point I went into my wallet to get cash and finally he figured out how to run the card.
He then told me it would be 2-3 minutes until the food comes out but I instead awkwardly sat there for about 10ish minutes waiting for the food.
I drove back home and the food itself was actually pretty good. Sweet Potato Fries were amazing, the Mushroom Swiss Burger was also really good, Cesar Wrap was also great, the regular Fries however, were undercooked but tasted burnt.
The entire experience from going to Beef-A-Roo to getting my food and taking it home took over a half hour. I live on the same property as Beef-A-Roo. In no world should it half taken over a half hour to get my food. Especially when there was NO CUSTOMERS either in the store or in the drive thru.
Overall I wanted to give this place a 1 star review but the only saving grace was the food itself.
The Employees were obviously not trained.
Having someone who doesn't speak or understand any English in the drive thru window led to a lot of unnecessary confusion.
The last point I have is that there was obviously no manager in charge of the mass amount of employees inside the business. It was loud from employees screaming over each other. I would NEVER eat inside this establishment. I'm surprised to see that there was no manager or even THE OWNER anywhere to be seen.
Very disappointing...
Read moreI like the other big national roast beef sandwich chain that starts with the first letter of the alphabet so found it interesting another place offering roast beef sandwiches, looking and described pretty much like the national chain. I had to try it! Looked online at their menu and decided wanted to try the big roast beef, chicken tenders, fries, milkshakes, and the Ham and Cheese Melt/Club. Their website menu shows they have baked potatoes and that was also getting me to want to go there tonight. So download their mobile app to do an order. No baked potatoes apparently at this store - so strike one. Arrive at restaurant and it’s new and clean. Someone answers drove thru board can’t understand them but luckily he came outside and said pull up to window to pickup food. They hand me a bag and one large milkshake. I ordered myself a small milkshake as well (2 shakes total) and I said shake missing. The lady spoke really no English and said no one milkshake. I show my receipt and the small milkshake was the last item - she says oh okay. Yes it’s fine you can have the large. I said no I got TWO milkshakes and she like yelled no only one. I then pointed at the middle of receipt and showed the large milkshake. Waited several minutes for them to make that. Strike two. Then because they screwed up on the milkshake had no confidence everything else was right so while waiting for it to be made looked in bag. They forgot the bbq sauce dipping for tenders. They forgot ketchup for fries. They forgot the cheddar cheese cup for fries. They forgot the bbq sauce packets which I assume is sandwich bbq sauce different than the dipping sauce for tenders. They gave me just the bbq sauce for dipping and the cheese sauce and I didn’t bother for ketchup. Strike three. Then get home. The big roast beef was so nasty couldn’t eat it. It was cold. It was bland and nasty. It was burnt edges. It was like cheap deli style meat microwaved and caused burnt spots. Tenders were way overcooked. And dry. Not good. Fries would be okay if they had salt and were hot. Milkshakes not bad. Stay away if you don’t want to lose...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to try this place for the first time. The location just opened recently. This is a definite keeper for me. Vision a fast-food restaurant, with impressive menu options. Think of a Culver’s crashing into a Whataburger, and Beef-a-roo is what you have left. We both ordered Jalapeno Hamburgers. She got onion rings, and I chose French fries. Both of our combo meals came with drinks from the self-serve fountain, including sweet and unsweet iced tea. They had me right there. They offer a selection of Sandwiches besides Hamburgers. They have wraps, for the calorie conscience. Chicken any way you could want, and a Fish Sandwich. And something that sets them apart is Fresh Roast Beef Sandwiches. The hamburger does not come with a condiment (Mayo or Mustard) applied. You need to ask for that separately although they have Mustard, Catsup, and Napkins, on every Table. That was another big plus in my book. The beef patty was ample and had a good flavor and the ingredients were fresh and plentiful on the hamburger. The least special thing of the combination is the buns, but hey you never expect perfection. Because the Onion Rings were outstanding, as good as Culver’s. And they had perfect “shoestring” cut French Fries as good as Whataburger. OMG!!! Three stars already. The dine-in restaurant was clean, both tables and floor. Service was outstanding with very friendly counter help. Four Stars and still going. I did not see one of their salads, while I was there, but the pictures of them look impressive. But I did see their famous Shakes. I must try one sometime when I do not have such a meal to ingest. They looked good and the lady that got one rolled her eyes in sheer rapture with a big smile, at how good it tasted. I give this place Five Stars. Our bill for the two of us was $24.00. Givern their extensive menu I am thinking we will be back to try it all. Keep up the excellent work...
