Shirley's Neighborhood Tavern — Restaurant in Carterville

I came to Shirley's last night to watch my husband play in their pool tournament. No service was provided. I went to the bar to order the chicken strip basket. I ordered and paid, then waited over half an hour for my food. When I finally just got up and asked about my order the owner/bartender went to the back and returned to tell me that he had forgotten my food and they were now conveniently out of chicken strips. He tried to offer me fries instead, but fries would've come with the basket anyway. I just wanted my money back. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I do not like how they treat people. Great atmosphere and was a blast took wife and her gf there. Was karaoke night!! Heard some amazing karaoke singers. Downside pretty sure drugs are being pedaled out of this place and owner had to be oblivious of he doesn't know it's happening. I've seen enough and experienced enough to know something going on in that bar more then alcohol sales!!! Like when a female is sooo drunk and walks into women's bathroom comes out a few minutes later that's not normal. Super nice owners! Treated us like fam! They are Kc Chiefs fans, so I guess they are fam! They had a band playing live tonight, The Prospectors, very very talented.
