Went to Tequila's tonight for dinner around 6:30, greeted and seated right away. Chips and salsa delivered quickly and order taken. The chips were overcooked and tasted and smelled burnt. We told our waiter and asked for another basket, which came quickly, however they were worse than the 1st batch. Asked another waitress for more and explained again the reason for the request. She promptly brought more chips. They were better, but still overcooked. We looked around and several other tables had full baskets of chips that had not been eaten. Our order arrived, Camarones En Lan Playa and Fajita Quesadilla. I noticed the Quesadilla was much smaller than it used to be but was expecting it to at least have ample amount of Steak, peppers, onions and cheese. When I opened the Quesadilla to put the lettuce and sour cream on I found hardly any steak and what was there appeared to be very fatty. Our other menu item seemed to have ample ingredients this time. This is the second time we have been to this Tequilas and received minimal amounts of ingredients in our orders. The last time, we were a party of 4 and 2 of us asked for more steak to add to our Fajita Quesadilla. I am willing to give second changes and I do understand inflation, but this will likely be our last time at Tequilas. For the money spent, we most definitely can do better than burnt chips and skimpy quesadilla's. Very...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer to the chain of Tequilas for over a decade. While there is the occasional issue, most of the time we love this place(s). Tonight though, we experienced something fairly inexcusable. Usually we call in our order and pick it up. Tonight I wasn't able to get through at all and kept getting a busy signal for the better part of an hour. I decided to just go to the restaurant to place my order. I arrived and told them there may be a problem with their phones. The guy at the counter just blew off the statement and proceeded to take my order. As I was waiting I noticed that their phone was not plugged in. I told them about it and the guy said, "it's busy, so we always unplug it when it gets too busy." That was rather shocking to hear. I looked around and noticed many people sitting and waiting for either their check or to be seated. It's like someone was playing a game of "Diner Dash" and sitting AFK and to see how many people they could irritate. I love these restaurants still, but I will likely avoid the Carterville location if I can help it. The food is still good, but the service leaves something to be desired.
3/29/2019 Updated: They are doing it again. They got busy and decided to take the phone off the hook so they didn't have to deal with to-go orders. Lowering...
Read moreOrdered the shrimp tacos using online ordering for a take out order. They gave me 1 shrimp taco. Not 3. Realized this after getting home. I paid for the order of 3. I emailed the contact information to have this resolved and received nothing from management to reimburse or rectify. Will not be returning considering there are better options. The food itself was fine but if I pay 13 or 14 bucks for shrimp tacos I would like to have all three, or at least a reply after my complaint. Edit: This was Memorial Day weekend (Sunday) and was in town visiting family. I will attempt calling the number as the reply states, it would have just been more convenient to solve with a simple email and receipt number at the time. Thanks for at least...
