My first visit to Asali today was met with a smile of delight and satisfactory high expectations which were met upon walking in! The very clean and quaint space to meet with family or friends and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and enjoy a sweet treat is welcoming, comfortable and relaxing. I ordered a cake for my hubby’s 49th birthday, which was the strawberry with cream cheese frosting. I picked this up and was so happy to see that they offered a pumpkin latte already. I generally wait till October to indulge in Pumpkin, but I had to try. I had it with oat milk and it wasn’t just delicious, but beautiful artwork that the barista crafted within the milk design. I sat down on their very soft and comfy pink couch and just took in all the simple but beautiful touches which made the space inviting. Watched some beautiful ladies engaging in conversation and enjoying their visit with one another. The employees were pleasant and greeted me with a smile and a pure kindness. They exhibited a true desire to be there and do their work with a sense of gratefulness. Before leaving I also purchased a slice of carrot cake for my mom. When I brought it to my moms home, I snuck a little taste. Amazing! The cake is full of flavor packed with organic carrots and pineapple and spices. The cream cheese frosting is just right also, not too sweet and not gritty at all, just creamy and delicious. I did like that they have a lot of their cakes available by the slice. If I had known this, I may not have purchased a cake for just my hubby and I. However, we ended up with happy neighbors this evening when we decided to share and the cake was worth the price.
All in all, I came from Fuquay Varina and will visit Asali again. I look forward to trying other varieties in the future.
Best wishes and prayers for continued good fortune...
Read moreUntil lately it was one of my favourite places in the area - fantastic coffee and macarons, nice place and warm atmosphere. And yesterday we took our regular desserts and also a pot of the blooming tea. Not only the lady forgot we asked for ginger lemon, but she….refused to give us the second cup stating that this is a pot for one and he boss strictly forbids to serve with two cups. This is a pot! Of tea, what the hell are you doing? And of course the boss wasn’t there. I don’t care if it was indeed coming from the boss or it was the lady serving us who decided to …improvise…either way is really really bad. And yet again - I used to be a loyal customer. Not any more.
I very carefully read the answer from the owner... and you are a liar. I did not curse anyone. and I was not offered to pay 0.50 dollars for the cup. She said - this is a pot for one and I cannot give you the second cup. Not even a hint of asking for extra payment. By the way - it is not a tiny pot, it's an absolutely standard pot of tea. So, I asked for the second cup, and she did not tell it was fifty cents. She said exactly - it's a pot for one and my boss does not allow me to give the second cup (now I am not surprised, reading the boss's reply). Then I asked for the boss, and of course the boss was not there. There was no cursing whatsoever. The final words I said were - listen, my child is in hospital, just give me the damn cup. Yes, I did say this angrily for which I do not feel any guilt considering the humiliation. Had she replied from the very beginning - this was just 50 cents - I would simply have paid that with no hesitation (even though it is ridiculous, but it is not me who is that petty). With all that said...Do you seriously think that you can threaten me with not letting me...
Read moreAsali is a modernized cafe that's local and accessible to everyone. The inside of the cafe is beautiful and has a comfortable atmosphere. There's a large selection of baked goods, as well as various drinks such as tea and coffee. The staff were welcoming and willing to help!
We ordered macarons, cakes, scone, croissants, two lattes, and the blooming jasmine tea.The Birthday Cake and Lavender Lemon macarons were delicious, they had the right amount of sweetness and perfect texture. The Lavender Blueberry Cheesecake was also delicious, but the lavender flavoring on the top of the cake was a little perfumey and was overpowering, but the center was silky smooth and the bottom crust was moist and light.
The Triple Chocolate Mousse felt a little chewy and not as smooth as it looked. The flavor of the chocolate was light though! The Blueberry Lemon scone was very dry and chewy, but actually tasted great as the blueberry and lemon flavors compliment each other nicely.
Lastly, we had the Chocolate Croissant. It was so crispy and the chocolate was rich. It was a little on the dry side, but the flavors was nice. The lattes weren't as sweet as we hoped, but it's good coffee. The Blooming Tea was gorgeous and took around 5 minutes to brew! It had good flavor.
Overall, Asali is a great place for a quick bite to eat with a wide selection of things to order. The textures of a few items were dry and chewy, but the flavors of everything...
