Mac's Tavern — Restaurant in Cary

Had the worse experience with my friends on 9/6 Friday night, we had one waiter that helped us first after we were done eating we ask for another drink with a different waiter with blond hair she was rude to us after asking for the drink she gave us the receipt like if she was kicking us out yet we were not done and hadn’t asked for the check after that we went outside with our friends and then some guy that was drinking in the bar don’t even think he worked there went directly to our table and asked for IDs even after the fact we had already ate and got drinks we were the only table he went to and the only Latinos there so that automatically made us feel profiled and when we left my friend had paid for our food and drinks but yet after we left the blond girl went to my friends table and told them we had not paid and I was on the phone with my friend letting him know we had paid she then told him we were never allowed back there instead of asking the other waiters aka the first lady that helped us and took our order If we had paid or not she kept harassing and telling my friends that someone had to pay for it and she did end up charging my friend for it not only did they steal from us by charging twice but were profiled and harassing from them. So clearly they don’t know how to keep up with orders or they are doing them on purpose to steal from customers. This isn’t the only time this bar has done that to people I have two other friends that it happened to got charged twice or said they didn’t pay. This place used to be good now I will not be recommending this place to anyone, so watch out people if you end up going check that they don’t...

Went here last night with a girl friend.

Walked up to the bar and sat down. We were instantly greeted by a bartender. They explained to us what drinks were available. We each ordered a flavored whiskey mixed with coke. They made it a point to learn our names, which always makes the place feel more welcoming.

Next comes the food. I ordered fish and chips, my friend ordered tacos. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food tasted. The cod was flaky and crispy, not overcooked. The tacos were seasoned well, not to mention you get 4.

They have a full bar, so mixed drinks can be made, as long as it isn't frozen. I asked for a John Daly, but they didn't have lemonade. Luckily, the bartenders jusy concocted their own but squeezing fresh lemons in, some sugar, and a fee other things to make it. Probably one of the best drinks I've ever had.

We asked about the patio area, they have live bands there Friday and Saturday. You're welcome to bring you're pups with you if you sit outside.

Overall, friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, good food, and good drinks. A good local place...

I wanted to go out for a nice quiet night. I wanted to hear my favorite country hits. I wanted good food and great drinks. I found it all at Mac’s. I was greeted by a very outspoken customer as I entered. He told me to let him know if I had any problems being helped and he would take care of it for me. I thought maybe he had “one too many”. I quickly saw what he meant. The bartender served everyone except me. In 2024, I would hate to say that it was a racial thing and refuse to berate my awesome experience due to one person’s preferences/limitations. She was kind enough to get someone from the back to help me and she was super kind, knowledgeable, and courteous! My drink was perfect! They have the TouchTunes software (which is what led me there) so I was able to play the music that I wanted to hear! I ended up getting my food (medium buffalo wings and crab & shrimp parm dip) to go! Some of the best food I’ve had since being in the triangle! Wow!
