Shoney's - Caryville — Restaurant in Caryville

Was there Sunday Nov 6th around 5:30 we waited for 20 min to fresh the hot bar there was no bacon, potatoes , biscuits on which my husband ask them to refresh the bar it was bad and not only but the the other side of bar the Salisbury steak was dried up macaroni, mashed potatoes, porkchop were dried up all while the workers were to busy chit-chating behind counter not concerned about the people setting and waiting to eat, it took over 40 min for them to finally get the hot bar ready I was not the only one that complained. And our waitress brought over our bill and we hadn't even been there 10 min and I hadn't even ate yet and not only that we had to ask another waitress to fill our drink not one time did our waitress ask if anything was Wrong I mean I sat there with no plate for over 20 min. But she sure brought the bill to our table. Our waitress was Jacklyn. And we told the woman when went to pay how bad it was all she could say was I hate to hear this. And not only this but an older couple sit for about 15 min before a waitress even came to their table to take their order. Who ever was the manager that evening did not do their job. Went there for a breakfast date with my bf and it was horrible the hostess walked so fast you couldn't keep up with her she and servers were wearing spanx as pants so tight it was unprofessional especially for a family place. The servers were gathered behind our table chatting away so loud it was offputting and the manager was yelling over the cell phones of all things he should be yelling about the overall rudeness of his staff and what's appropriate clothing and how to be respectful to the customers

Update on my review I did have a chance to speak with the night manager and man did she turn my opinion of this shoneys around!!!!!!! She was very sweet and listened to our experience in her store she even apologized!! Even tho she didn't do it amazing lady that took the time to make it right she even invited us back on her! She deserves to be recognized Rebecca you are doing an awesome job we will be back for dinner with you. Rebecca really put the shoneys slogan in how she handled the situation she definitely cares about her customers and ensuring they have a wonderful time when in her store thank you. Just knowing that there is still managers like her makes it better for everyone I hope more learn from her again thank you for taking the time to make it right...

Stopped in for lunch as we were passing through the area. Neither of us had eaten at a Shoney’s is YEARS, so figured why not. They offer an all you can eat buffet, which we both chose to do. We got there right at 11AM when breakfast was ending and lunch beginning, so breakfast was still an option. I went for lunch while my boyfriend opted for the breakfast. This is not a place for high expectations. He mentioned the french toast stix were good. As for the lunch…the mashed potatos are instant, mac & cheese is obviously frozen and warmed up, green beans from a can and, from what I guessed it was suppose to be, the salisbury steak was very small. All was slightly more than warm, so basically cold as I worked my way through my plate of small portions. The staff was not rude, but not exactly friendly either. Our waitress was attentive but never cracked a smile or revealed any personality. This was the same as she interacted w other patrons, and the rest of the staff was basically the same. They’re there cause it’s a job and they need a paycheck. With this all said, if we found ourselves in the same situation where we’re hungry and not a lot of options right along the interstate, would probably stop again. Salt & pepper can be your...
