Airport Tavern — Restaurant in Casa Grande

I really enjoy this place. We went at lunch and for dinner to try the Steak and Fish Fry specials. The other patrons I met were fun and inviting. Just a really good feel from everyone and a nice gentleman bought me a drink! The food was fantastic and priced right. I tried the ribeye and it was cooked to a perfect Medium Rare. It melted in your mouth it was so tender. The taste was spot on with the appropriate amount of char. The fish was tender and flaky. The crust was a golden brown. My favorite part of the fish was there is no huge amount of breading. Just a nice thin layer of golden crunchy YummO.

My only complaint is the security guard and I had to drop to 4 stars as a result of my interaction with this person. We left the outside area to walk in and ask for our tab. No fault of the server, we just were ready to go. As we were waiting for the tab to come back, as i had already given the bartender my card and tab, the Security dude was standing INCHES from me. It was awkward so I turn around and say, "Sorry, we are just waiting for our tab". Hoping this guy would back off. I mean did I have to remind the Security of the ongoing 6ft apart rule? Apparently my comment had no impact. The security guard stood inches from and laughed with the regulars at the table next to us. Apparently we looked the type to dine and dash? Who knows, but Security needs to back off a little and stop breathing so close to folks without a mask on. Do I know he is vaccinated? No. Do I know who this cat is? No. Did he back away after I asked him to? NO.

We finally get the card and tab back to sign, after waiting for what seemed a lifetime due to Security Dude standing 2 inches from me. I give the generous tip as we had great food, great service and a great time, even though Security was annoying as Hades. No sooner do I sign and hand it back to the bartender... at the bar.... Security finally takes off to do whatever it is... spread Rona? I don't know but someone needs to tell Security to back off when they can visibly see someone paying their tab and just waiting for the return slip. Or maybe be courteous and back off the older folks when asked to due to ongoing pandemic in the world?

Overall, this place is worth a visit for some wonderful food, good service, and a great scene of locals. Forget the rudeness of Security and enjoy what this hidden gem offers. We will be back, although not at night due to a strange Security man standing 2 inches from me even after being asked to back up to the accepted 6 feet. Daytime lunch or an early dinner is perfect for this ol gal. Check it out for the food. Great prices...

Airport Tavern in my opinion is the Best place to relax in town. Friday and Saturday nights are awesome! The Best night all year round is the night before Thanksgiving, it's like a class reunion. Ken and Jules are outstanding owners, the staff behind the bar are all wonderful people! I want to name a few......I might miss a couple, forgive me if I do. Angela is a fun and brilliant young woman, Michelle has a great personality and makes me laugh, Jessica is quiet, but very thoughtful and kind, Cassie is short but her beauty and great smile is very refreshing - I like how she teases me, Aiden is tall and is very sexy and extremely attractive, Cortney is the country cow girl and very attractive as well, Bones is funny and a great guy to talk to, Henry is a great guy......and I know I'm missing someone, I miss Dallas from Canada, and Jennifer from Oklahoma.....two amazing woman as well! This is by far the best bar in town! Give me a two thumbs up if you agree!

The kitchen staff are wonderful as well, and cook some outstanding grub.... Try the Raccoon it's actually pretty good!

The steaks are...

Arrived about 6:15 the hostess was nice and got us seated outside. Once seated took sometime for anyone to know we were there. Once we order our drinks they arrived some time later. The waitress said she would be right back to get our order. That took some time. Once we did get to order our steaks and salads, we did not see her for about 50 minutes. She asked how we were doing and we asked about our salads. We knew our steaks would take some time but to wait for over 30 minutesfor a salad is ridiculous. When they finally came out one was correct the other was not. We just asked for our bill for the drinks after that was at 7:40 PM. She said she would be right back with the check. That took another 5 minutes. Once she came back they comped our two drinks. Once getting up from the table a manager said to us sorry you feel that way in a sarcastic tone after we said that the salads should not take 30 + minutes. Not happy with the service or...
