The Posh Bagel — Restaurant in Castro Valley

I tried Posh Bagel in Menlo Park and had the best salt bagel with the most amazing jalapeño cream cheese so I was delighted to hear there was one in CV. Very different experience. I’ve been a salt bagel fan for years but this one was inedible. I thought I had gotten a sesame seed bagel because the amount of salt was overkill. It was more of a salt lick than a salt bagel. And while I love spicy food, the jalapeño cream cheese here was overpowering. I had to throw the top half of my bagel out and I think I’m still retaining water from the amount of salt this thing had. I now have 5 salt bagels I purchased with my order sitting in my pantry. Other than that the bottom half of my bagel was tasty (albeit spicy). Service was good, they double toasted per my request. I will try other bagels here but will drive to Menlo Park for my salt...

Since their speciality is bagel, we definitely choose the bagel. We tried one of their speciality and favorite menu from Posh Bagel which is Sliced Lox & Cream Cheese Bagel (USD 8.95). For me, bagel is the kind of bread as the combination of doughnut and burger with its some crispy texture sides. I was visiting my friend and we didn’t know where to go for brunch. Didn’t want anything big or unhealthy. I looked places up and posh poped up and I said why not let’s try it. We both got the nova lox bagel. I also got coffee. The bagel was amazing!!!! Loved it. I’m from the Bay Area but currently living in Wisconsin. It was so nice to eat a good place for once as Wisconsin doesn’t have a whole lot. The people were super friendly and we didn’t wait long for our food. They were pretty busy but they got it to us fast and with a little baby in our books that’s a huge thing. Definitely will be going back to this place when I visit. I know my friend will keep going.
