We purchased pizza as part of a fundraiser. I was excited to try this place since I haven't before.
The first sign something was off was the permeating smell of cardboard. Usually, good pizza smells like f^!*^ng good pizza.
When we serve our pizza loving toddler who had barely had lunch that day a slice, he immediately pushes the plate away from him, afterwards eating everything on his plate BUT the pizza.
My husband and I keep eating the slices, hoping they would somehow get better, and having been in the military we have a stomach for less than appetizing food. I even heated my slice thinking it was because the pizza was slightly cold.
But no, nothing can save the macaroni and cheese with BBQ chicken disappointment we purchased. There was no flavor. My husband said it tasted like chalk. It definitely was leaving a mess like chalk with how much flour was put on the dough. I said that Cicis, a chain I have not eaten at in YEARS, would have tasted better. The dough also tasted strangely sweet??
I purchased two cheese pizzas for our neighbors, and they told me that while their kids usually eat 2-3 slices, that night they ate just one. It's telling when toddlers, who require truckloads of food to function, eat just the bare minimum.
I also purchased a brownie pizza slice. I prayed to the food gods that at least the brownie could help salvage the meal. It did not. It was strangely chewy and the slightly crispy top almost cut my mouth.
At least the decor was quirky, the people seemed nice, and their desserts...

I've been forced to revise my rating downward, after apparently getting food poisoning here yesterday. They bake perhaps 8 different pies in advance, and have them sitting at room temperature in a display case where you can choose your slice. My choice yesterday (incidentally, a dollar more than it used to cost), caused me to be very sick in the stomach, a few hours later. I shared food later in the day with other people, none of whom got sick, so the pizza slice had to be the culprit.
I'm disappointed. This place has been a go-to stop when I'm in the neighborhood. After last night's experience, I need to rethink that.
my original review from 3 years earlier
Comfy little neighborhood place. We stopped in for a bite before picking up our dogs from the groomer around the corner. I like being able to choose by the slice, and they had a nice selection on hand at 4 PM. I have to deduct one star, because our slices were a little soggy for my taste. Next time, I'll ask to have them run through the heating oven twice, and that will probably cure the problem. And next time I will order only one slice, to save room for dessert. I'm sure we'll be returning, at the very least on dog...
Read moreGo to place for me in Catonsville for really tasty salads and pizzas. There are good choices for vegetarians (though not vegans) and carnivores alike- even some gluten free choices. There are about 10 different Salad choices, 20 or so pizza specials, and similar items like calzones. The places is uber-popular with birthdays common on weekends, sports team celebrations, and students from the local college- UMBC. Summer Friday nights are to be avoided as their parking lot opens up to become a free concert venue and the place is packed- unless that's what you want! Only complaint is that if you order takeout, you have to wait in the sometimes long line of customers ordering and milling about while your pizza gets cold. I wish they would figure out a way to either take your info over the phone or handle take out orders separately :/ Food quality is superior compared to any of the chain pizza joints and the veggies in the salad are always fresh and tasty- nothing like the often tasteless veggies at let's say a Subway. My fav pizza is a large half Mediterranean and half carnivore for my...
